Members YRfan23
Thank goodness....though still terrible.....I'm just glad she wasn't actually fired.... I think a marriage between her and Victor would have been fun, while sparking a rivalry with Nikki and Heather's Victoria....but what might have been.... Deeedee, did you think it was the right move to have Brad inherit all her money instead of Paul when she died? kind of a random question but I guess because I can't stand Brad most of the time, it seemed to be too overdone to give the playboy all that money...though that was probably the point, and also how Paul wasn't a business man like Brad was...
Members DRW50
I didn't realize she wanted to leave. I wonder why. She just went onto another soap not all that long after.
Members YRfan23
I don't believe this garbage for a second, but I heard once that Lauralee had her fired because she started to get flirty with then on/offscreen hubby/boyfriend Michael Damian... of course she wasn't fired...but the gossip they come up with. Members DeeeDee
She stated she felt burnt out from the rigorous pace of Daytime & wanted a break (which was difficult since she was in such heavy story). Bill wanted her to stay as he had big plans for her (hence her rapid transition from B story vixen to A story antiheroine).
Members DeeeDee
It was a good idea with a botched execution (due to the massive cast upheaval).
Members YRfan23
Was that because it was a last minute decision cause of Arvesen leaving? Another thing I wonder about, which I don't remember if this was discussed before, but since he played a huge supporting role in the whole Cassandra saga, did they actually still imply that Carl was in the picture off camera?.....when did they make it known he had suddenly "disappeared"? was it right when they brought Brett Hadley back for that amnesia story in 1998-99?
Members amybrickwallace
Thank you all for your insights on Nina/Cassandra!! She was born in Oslo, Norway, so she definitely has the European beauty going on. She joined the cast of SB and was on that show for about a year until its cancellation, so I wonder why she never went back to Y&R after that - either as a not-so-dead Cassandra or a new character. Members SoapDope
I can't believe that Terry Lester never won. He was excellent as Jack. It's a crime that Y&R was shut out of the nominations in the 70's and early 80's.
Members KateW
Looking at the 1984-1987 Lead Actor races: 1984: James Mitchell, Larry Bryggman (winner), Joel Crothers, Larkin Malloy, Stuart Damon, Terry Lester 1985: David Canary, James Mitchell, Darnell Williams (winner), Larry Bryggman, Terry Lester 1986: David Canary (winner), Scott Bryce, Larry Bryggman, Robert S. Woods, Nicolas Coster, Terry Lester 1987: Scott Bryce, Larry Bryggman (winner), A Martinez, Eric Braeden, Terry Lester I think Terry should've gotten at least one win in either 1984, 1985, or 1986. As much as I love Terry and Eric, I don't dispute Larry Bryggman's 1987 win since As the World Turns was at the height of the Douglas Marland years (remember they won 3 acting Emmys and best show that year). Members DeeeDee
Every year Terry was nominated he was up against stiff competition. Had he remained on Y&R into the early 90s he would've had a much better shot at winning a much deserved Lead Actor Emmy.
Members DRW50
Terry's work in the Jack/Jill reveal should have won something. The scene where he had a breakdown at the office soon after losing his home and job alone deserved an award. As much as I'd say Larry Brygmann deserved an Emmy, he didn't really have much at all to do during 1986. Members YRfan23
Terry Should have won an Emmy for his work in the Jill/John divorce in 1986 and who shot Jill? He kills it in all of those scenes. It really is a shame he never took one home... MTS is another one who should have won some emmys especially with her drinking stories (the old ones, not the current ones)
Members DeeeDee
Y&R's female talent has always been overlooked. It took Jess 10 years to win two Emmys & it took Jeanne 35 years just to win. Other deserving Y&R actresses like Julianna McCarthy, Tricia Cast, Victoria Rowell, Barbara Crampton, Tonya Williams, Kimberlin Brown, Veronica Redd, Janice Lynde, Alex Donnelly, Ashley Bashioum, Signy Coleman, Tamara Clatterbuck, Lauren Woodland, Jamie Lyn Bauer & Sabryn Genet have been shut out altogether.
