I bet "Giorgio of Beverly Hills" was embarrassed to be credited for Linda Larkin's get-up in the 1978 episode 😁

lol, though wasn’t it just the wealthy characters on the show that had their wardrobe through Giorgio’s? I think Brenda Dickson complained once about having to wear blouses from Kmart that had to keep her breasts from being too exposed. lol

I think they said she wanted to dress like the Brooks girls and they had to keep explaining to her that her character was poor.....🤣

Right, I don't believe Giorgio's really provided that checkered shirt & bandana Linda Larkin was wearing. Nor did they provide those sweaty-looking undershirts April Stevens' daddy (Wayne) wore in 1980. But the closing credits always boasted, "Fashions provided by Giorgio's of Beverly Hills!", as though we were seeing a complete array of Giorgio's merchandise on the show. lol.

The Soap Report By JON-MICHAEL REED

Nikki Reed arrived in Genoa City last summer on CBS's "The Young and The Restless " To say that she was a troubled teen would be putting it mildly. The younger, rebellious sister of good Dr. Casey Reed. Nikki was a hell-raiser of frightening proportions. She taunted sister Casey for being a frigid career woman, while Nikki herself spent an inordinate amount of time in the bushes with mindless, muscular, eager-beaver beach boys.

Fans might remember another blonde bombshell, Morgan Fairchild, who appeared as the similarly lascivious Jennifer Pace on “Search For Tomorrow” two years ago. She has made a big name for herself in TV movies and series guest-starring roles. Morgan s most recent accomplishment was an amusingly sterling performance on ABC’s smash hit, “Mock and Mindy,” as a would be seductress.

Whether Erica Hope makes the same grade is a question mark at this stage, but it's certain that Nikki's development on Y&R won't be a laughing matter.

Now THAT's the Y&R that I miss!

@Paul Raven Thank you for the article on Nikki introduction.

Erica Hope original recipe Nikki Reed was introduced as the troublemaking younger sister of the new doctor in town and she was a promiscuous girl.

Melody Thomas Nikki Reed wanted to be loved and adored and cared for, but was lacking in both book smarts and street smarts, thus the shady modeling agency fronting for prostitution ring, the cult, the pole. Climbing the pole lead to Nikki Reed becoming Nikki Newman the OG ho turned housewife. Even though Nikki was from a working class background, I don't think she came across as being all about the come up but she got the come up when she became Mrs. Victor Newman.

Melody Thomas Scott Nikki Newman went from the OG ho turned housewife to snooty lady of the manor and is now messy matriarch/grande dame.

I thought he was very hot as Lucas to the point where I wasn't sure why he was cast, as he overshadowed Lance. They seemed to compensate for that in the writing (I wonder if that's why they made him shave off his beard). A shame Lucas never had any happy ending. I think in the end Leslie would have been happier with him.

Lucas was another Bill Bell second son that wanted the first son's girl.

Bill Bell contrasted the Prentiss sons with Lance as the suave sophisticated wealthy businessman and Lucas as the rugged bearded sailor.

The four Ls quad drove storylines for like 5 years but there was no resolution in the end. Lucas took off for parts unknown and he was never mentioned again.

For awhile, it seemed like the show was testing Lucas with Casey before she left the show.. and then it seemed as though he was being tested with Andy's ex wife in early 1982 before it appeared as though he was phased out while Lorie was focused on revenge against Victor while Leslie started a relationship with Robert with the teen daughter and wife that was committed to a mental hospital.

Certainly they could have done something with Lucas to keep him on longer.

Speaking of "no resolution", I don't believe a damn one of them took Brooks Prentiss with them when they all skedaddled out of town.
