Thoughts:
As present as Anita is with Nicole, I can tell that whatever information she received from Dr Ahn is likely on her mind.
JFC Dani, you are jumping for joy like someone just told you you won one million dollars. But it is very nice seeing her so positive in comparison to how she was at the top of the year.
Oh, Lynette and the con artist child bride absolutely know each other; that mutual hand nodding of acknowledgement. I see you both.
Lesion on her breast? So potential breast cancer. C'mon Anita, do not put this off... go immediately and book that appointment. Do not play around with your health.
Joey is becoming unhinged right now; his plan is truly coming undone. I sense it greatly.
I love how much Andre is being integrated into the Dupree family, but Vernon is right about Andre still having his own condo. No bueno.
Randy is right in this moment: she has caught feelings for this mark. And oop... Lynette ran the schemes with the con artist child bride? How interesting.
Joey is going to use Bill in the ways that Martin will not allow himself to be used. This could play out in such an interesting way.
I appreciate Nicole's compassion towards Eva and her having Dana as a mother. It goes to show she can separate things.
Aw, Anita, things are going to be fine. I get that life flashes before one's eyes, but wow... that was an emotional little segment of clips/memories.
Sorry... Val? 🤣
Notes:
Outstanding collaboration between Zimmerman and Davis today. Zimmerman is quickly becoming one of my favourite breakdown writers.
We have got some archival footage of Clifton Davis (Vernon) and Tamara Tunie (Anita). Damn. The creatives behind the scenes at Assembly are doing some outstanding work.
Anita hiding what's going on from her family is absolutely real; having been in a similar situation, it mirrors real life.
Kudos to Beyond the Gates for showing Anita's procedure and discussing what was to happen... this is the kind of topical storytelling that American soaps have been missing for such a long time. And the direction, by Pascarelli, was exceptionally well done.
