'The Young and the Restless' plans road trip to New Orleans

CBS's "The Young and the Restless" gets its best local ratings anywhere on New Orleans' WWL-Channel 4, so where else would a road trip take the cast? Deep into its fourth decade of spinning soapy stories, the daytime drama will film here early next month for episodes to air starting Nov. 23.

Cast members expected to participate are Sharon Case (who plays Sharon Newman), Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman), Michael Muhney (Adam Wilson) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers).

"It's a big thank-you to the city," said LeBlanc, a Tulane University graduate and tireless enthusiast for New Orleans and its charitable causes.

Of course, the visit won't be all business. LeBlanc is committed to participate in local charity events on the weekends bracketing the show's shooting schedule. And he's got an off-camera agenda planned for his co-stars.

"I've already decided that Sharon and Michelle are way too thin, and we're going to fix that while we're down there," he said. "They're actually pre-emptively losing weight. I just talked to Sharon. She said, 'I'm getting in shape.'

"I've got the list of restaurants. It's great taking people around the town, especially since Katrina, so see how it's come back so beautifully."

It's nice that they're giving New Orleans some money. Otherwise, I imagine this will be about as worthless as their "Paris in a can" remote a few years ago, especially with the vapid, unpleasant characters who are being coughed up into that storyline.

Let me guess, this time instead of having Phyllis see Nick and Sharon kissing alongside the Seine in front of the Eiffel Tower we'll have Phyllis see Adam and Sharon kissing in the French Quarter. Another wasted remote with a bunch of useless characters.

At least with the Paris remote I sorta like despite the pointless gimmick and the Eden/Noah junk but Eileen Davidson was its saving grace.

Why is Phyllis going? With Micheal I get because Leblanc is from the are and Adam/Nick/Sharon self explanatory. Is it because she's Micheal's best friend? Why couldn't he take his wife instead?

I'm amazed that they don't have Billy and Victoria going for their honeymoon.

Or how about Y&R meets TRUE BLOOD! LOL! Wasn't there some blind item that stated that one of the soaps was pushing those in charge to let them tell a supernatural story? Well this is the opportunity I'd say. Nick, Sharon, Adam, Phyllis, and Michael thrown into some serious supernatural sh!t involving vampires, werewolves, voodoo practitioners, etc.

    • I don't think they were the biggest factor, but I do think there's a specific style to Dano's work that wasn't helped by how pointless her character often felt (and later on the various writers clearly saw the character as a joke).
    • I think Evie came in mid 1976 after Rita broke up with Tim because she realized she was leading him on.  And Evie became upset with Rita because she didn't tell her that she had previously dated Tim before she came to town.
    • Please stop, you were wrong, and you know it, now you're trying to back pedal. You even got called out by the DAYS actors/actresses on Twitter for that sh*t. It was disgusting and vile and IMO the family should have taken action against you It was clear the general public did not know about his illness and it was NOT your place to "spill the beans" just because you run a Facebook group, period! TBH IMO @Errol should have banned you ages ago Donna
    • Who went bowling? JFP & Anna? Is there any more to this?
    • Another character driven show with interconnecting plots that make sense. I like that we go from one character, like Sarah, learning that EJ wants to buy the hospital, casually mentioning it to Xander who now has that intel. The only down today was not seeing Steve and Shawn breaking into the lab. I wonder if Dr Poofy Hair will inform EJ about Xander's call. I loved Abe talking to Chanel about losing Isaac and giving her comfort. And helping her voice her fears about Johnny. Kayla standing up to EJ is great. Kayla, freed from Ron, has been great. I am loving all her air time. And Sarah telling her that EJ must be up to something if he wants the hospital is very smart. She would probably clue in to the sepsis research being the big thing if she wasn't choking to death. I assume Felicity messed up the scones and dropped in cleaning fluid or something. Sarah said it tasted weird. They are never getting that honeymoon, are they? Xander has no clue what job Johnny can do. Johnny knows this too. Xander wants to legitimize his takeover by hiring a Dimera. Johnny wants to stick it to EJ. The honesty is refreshing. I want to like Cat and Chad but they are just so awkward. And none of their scenes work for me. Marlena and EJ was very good. I like her wanting to help him but also scared to death for Belle. Makes perfect sense that she is conflicted. I also liked her softly asking Johnny if he needed her to stay once EJ walked in. Ron never cared about this relationship either, but now she is acting like his granny.
    • Sorry, catching up, and the bolded part, yes! Should have been sued by DH's family for that nasty sh*t too   Anywho, back to the show, Kristina is freaking nuts, she needs to be committed ASAP
    • Angry Dante was hot; sorry, but I'm not going to pretend it wasn't awesome seeing Dominic Zamprogna act his ass off in a way that was not crying.
    • Thanks, interesting and so believable (no Lonatrat or Clones...)Instead of the Lewis family he should have made the Oil family Granger...even if the audience didn't remember that one off character it would have been interesting to tie it into the fictional GL world.
    • Dante needs stick removed from his butt
