They used Victoria Principal for press and to get the fans invested when she had told them she wasn't returning. That's stupid on their part because the wasted so much screentime on it. There are so many characters that could be used before Pam. Hell, they could keep Pam dangling and just use Katherine and say Katherine has her somewhere in case VP decides to return at some point. There is also Afton who makes sense for this show and Jenna who has a son with Bobby. Not to mention Gary and Val could've been added to the regular cast after their stint last season. They could use some of what they give Judith and give that to Valene and use her as a rival for Sue Ellen.

Yea I thought what they setup with Gary and Val was actually interesting, which is rare for this show. Especially with Sue Ellen falling off the wagon, the show could've kept Gary down and out and have them drinking together with Val trying to get him away from Sue Ellen. Those two also could've given Bobby and Ann something more interesting to do. As a collective, those five plus Harris would've been very interested IMO.

This was an ok finale but again, the writing for Sue Ellen is ridiculous. She doesn't really have any problems personally, just that her son is cheating on his wife. From this she spiraled out of control and became a complete drunk after 20 years sobriety? And nothing set off her binge tonight other than Pamela calling her a weak drunk. Sue Ellen has been called a lot worse without needing to hit 14 bottles.

As for Pamela, the end there didn't make a lot of sense. The three way was OTT. Why did Emma and John Ross even go along with it? Pamela initiated that so she could commit suicide in front of them I guess, but this reaction seems out of left field since she had only been married to John Ross for 30 seconds and it wasn't so long ago she was in love with Christopher. Juaquim trying to get Elena pregnant came from out of nowhere too. Obviously he has loved her all these years but why the need to impregnate her?

The new girl's husband, Drew, I can't get too excited about that story. I guess this episode left me indifferent.

    • I have watched the scene where Vanessa reads the letter and it's lovely, but I'm really glad now that I never got around to watching the funeral. Henry ADORED Nola! He treated her like a daughter and Stacy like a granddaughter. That's why Vanessa couldn't stand her. He was crazy about all the Reardons. He spent a lot of time at the boarding house. He and Bea--they never explicitly said it was romantic, but they certainly were loving friends. This sounds worse than Bert's funeral. I really did not think that was possible.
    • It always bothered me from the start that Nicole just took Mona's suggestion and never checked references.  A real psychiatrist would have done more before hiring someone. ** I like that Kat's reporter/investigative type instincts caused her to be suspicious of Eva from the start, and to try to spy on Eva and catch her as weeks went by. However, I think that Kat's so focused on what Eva did wrong -- that she won't see that Leslie is the master manipulator, making some things appear different than they actually are. I hope that Shanice's natural snoopy nature will get her to figure out what actually happened to Laura, and who really caused all the problems. *** edit to add: The show never specified what Mona's job was for Nicole.  Home manager?  Office manager?  Head personal assistant?  I'm sure there would have been a title?    Mona asserted today her upset with Eva and with Leslie.  That they used her and ruined her reputation.  I just wish I knew what Mona's job was. If Mona was an official manager, then it would have made sense for Nicole to trust the recommendation, if Nicole thought Mona had done a proper hiring procedure.  But if Mona is just an informal helper, then why wouldn't Nicole order a background check?
    • And I'm here for it.   Also...YES, PLEASE.
    • Also, someone knocked over the head (usually in the D Mansion) and imprisoned in the secret tunnel room or whatever it was. I swear that must have happened at least a dozen times the last few years, and each time it drove me crazy!
    • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! And here I am rewatching and...

    • 5-9   Honestly? There's nothing going on. And yet unlike Y&R, I'm not bored. But I just think that's because of the acting going on as they play the beats in this Liam dying storyline. Well, that and the outfits.   If there's anything I'm liking it's the continued drama of Daphne going after Carter and not letting anyone get in her way. Not Brooke. Not Katie. NO ONE.    And while I love TK in those glasses, I am not here for a Brooke/Ridge/Taylee triangle.    And of course, Luna would try to use this Liam mess to get closer to Finn.   Okay week.
    • The acting during those Sarah scenes on Friday was horrific.
    • So true. Their hypocrisy is on another level. When Anita called Ted a coward because he used Bill as a fixer, I almost choked on my Ritz. And Dani calling Ted worse than Bill as a husband because Bill never pretended to be a good person? Then why stay with him for decades and continue to kiss up to him, Dani? I was glad when Bill told Anita he wouldn't be her punching bag. Not for me. I can think of 100 other actors who would have smoking hot chemistry with LB. Lindstrom does not. I see zero chemistry. None. Joey isn't sexy or scary.   -- Mona was awesome today. -- Why was Eva playing cards in the back room of the casino? -- Can they make Anita any more sanctimonious and self-righteous? -- Dani said Anita had Ted shook. LOL. Really?       No. But I see what you're trying to do. This is a SOAP OPERA. Characters HAVE to make mistakes and sin and screw up and cheat. That's the deal. I understand the concern that we have 2 leading Black men who have cheated on their wives. I do. But I also understand that this is SOAPS 101. Are we going to hear complaints every time a Black character messes up???
