What would happen? The clouds would part, the sun would shine, and the white-winged dove of peace would coo once more. That's what would happen.

Oh, I'm sorry.

Yeah, GH would become a balanced and less amoral show again.

They would officially rename it The Vanessa Marcil Hour and use all those salaries to keep her around.

When contract time comes up, no one dares to question why all the actors over 45 are disappearing...

A distraught Guza couldn't let the show go on, and Helena would accidentally press a button nuking the whole town. It would then be replaced by some bullshit nepotism show featuring the spouse of a network executive.

She still wouldn't have gotten nominated during the PGP blocvoting era that dominanted the acting awards from 2006-2009.

Sorry, Nicole Forester for me was the better Cassie. Less yelling, more compelling. She totally deserved her Emmy nomination.

If LW had not left GUIDING LIGHT, then the Josh/Cassie romance would not have happened. Wright was vehemently against it, apparently. Unfortunately, for her, the writers were out of romantic options at that point, so it would've been likely that she get killed off or shipped back to San Cristobel.

Actually I think that he would have kept her and featured her, during his tenure in between Stuart's illnesses, Aunt Meta was a force in her individual scenes. She kicked ass and took names. I think that Rauch is "old school," in that, despite him killing Mary Matthews (who reportedly was a cheap imitation of Nancy Hughes and the actress was a pain in the ass) he sees the value in a soap matriarch.

However, how well would he "use," her is anyone's guess. I think that E & B were cheap enough to actually have Mo pull some very "unMo," things and have her do something like frame Carmen, or something stupid, so that she would be "knocked," off her "high horse."

I also think it would have been Wheeler and Kreizman who would have backburnered and fired Mo. Look at how they treated Ross. Anything that came between the Coopers being seen as the all wonderful perfect family of Springfield had to be eliminated.
