That's interesting. I'd forgotten about the connection until now.

She looks a little old for Brooke but she's not a bad fit.

Those were great clips. I'd forgotten how good B&B was back then.

I must admit though that it's hard to see someone else as Brooke. KKL has become so identified with the role. It was the same when Sandra Ferguson filled in when KKL was on maternity leave in 1997. It just didn't feel like Brooke.

Nancy Burnett must have been fairly new as Beth at this time since the old Beth was still part of the opening montage.

I thought Catherine Hickland was fine as Brooke, but Sandra Ferguson is just not a good actress. I didn't mind her when she was younger on Another World, but she was awful as Felicia on GH and now as Brooke, she is just terrible. Very cool to see that though!

yeah I heard Judith Baldwin was replaced quick as Beth.

soapfan770 (do they still post here?) mentioned this a few years ago, but to add more detail, a December 1991 Weekly mentioned that Mira Sorvino would temp as GL's Julie for a month (Jocelyn Seagrave was ill) and her first airdate would be Dec. 25.

James Carroll is listed as temping for Mark Derwin as GL's Mallett starting Dec. 30, 1991. Derwin broke his ankle.

I just read an article about recasts from a paper in the 60s. It said that Meta Bauer[Ellen Demming] was temporarily replaced by Irene Champlin when Demming broke her leg.
