Lauren Woodland was close to getting Annie on AMC.

Her, Erin Hershey Pressley, and Erin Torpey were up for recast Courtney on GH before they decided to kill her off, Torpey being the front runner.

EHP always seems to be the bridesmaid, never the bride. I could see Lauren woodland as courtney but ET I think that would have failed and she was the frontrunner?

Sally Sussman Morina almost became Head Writer of LOVING in 1991

Years before becoming Head writer at OLTL in 2013, Thom Racina was close to a deal to head write the soap in 1991 but the deal fell thru.

Out of curiosity, why do you think Erin Torpey would have failed as Courtney?

the reason Im glad they recast OLTL's Jessica, torpey still comes across to young & naive.

I can field that one, IMHO, Courtney was one of the worst of Guza's insta sisters that appeared at the time. Actually, they all kinda stunk.

Sarah Webber, kung fu Courtney, Kristina Cassadine and I think there was another. Courtney was all over the board...she's a victim, she's a hero, she's with Jason, she's w/AJ, she's w/ Jax, she's w/ Nik...No matter who played her, the character was an OVEREXPOSED

Clunker. Kristina was a great actress in a role they didn't know what to do with, and Sarah Webber at the time...I don't even remember the story...Torpey would have been a little too soft, EHP a little harsh, but the only thing that made Courtney work for me was the monkey fever. They all seemed about as well planned as Cartini's characters! Again I know a lot of people liked Kung Fu Barbie, but that's just my opinion.

Sarah wasn't an insta-sister.

McTavish created the insta-sisters. Guza killed Kristina off almost as soon as he got back.

I'm always surprised when I find a Courtney fan.

GH had no story planned for Sarah when she returned in 2002 and I hated the actress

I know Sarah wasn't an insta sister, but McTavish was so busy tying the other two, and Sarah returned at the same time. I seriously haven' t any recollection of that return except she was terrible. I don't think anyone I know liked KUNG FU Courtney...She was self righteous one day, stripper the next...I just couldn't stand her.

I just read an old JMR column that said Tina Sloan was a contender for Laura Horton in 76. I couldn't remember if it was posted before. She landed Patti Whiting on SFT instead!

According to an interview with him in SOW,Bev McKinsey lobbied for Daniel Davis (ex Eliot TX ,Niles The Nanny) to be cast as Alan Spaulding on GL.

I've read that before, she suggested him when Christopher Bernau fell ill. Is this a recent SOW interview?

Kevin Stapleton (Kevin Buchanan, OLTL, 1996-1998) auditioned for Paul Ryan on ATWT in 2001 but Scott Holyroyd got the role instead.
