OH MY GOD STOP!!! I can't sit here and talk about old sitcoms with yall all night. But I'm-a try!

Good Times is legendary around these parts. Yes, there was a lotta unnecessary backstage sh!t that did not need to happen, but I can watch this show pretty much from the beginning to the end and love about 75% of the episodes. My favorite characters were Willona and James, but my least favorite was JJ. Really, I liked them all except for Penny and JJ.

Penny was way too childish for me. Janet (because no, I am not nasty) was at least 11-12 years old at the time, but Penny was written like a 6-year-old for her whole run. The only time I liked her was in the Christmas episode where she stole the necklace for Willona and the studio audience was screaming at her, telling her not to do it.

The first three seasons were great, the post-James/pre-Flo's leaving episodes were not all that, but I did enjoy the Flo-less season. The last season was just blah.

Bernadette and Ja'net were SEXY. And Ralph Carter was foine by the end. Thelma's husband the wife-beater was not.

LOVE this show!

Favorite episode has to be when they invited a friend over for dinner and she brought a meat loaf and they thought it was made of dog food.

I also loved the one where Michael got suspended for calling George Washington a racist.

LOL It was because she was poor, right? And they all thought that she could only afford dog food, so they invited her over not knowing she planned to bring something. Or maybe I'm mixing that up with another show.

One of my favorites was the one where the Evans's cousin spends some time with the family and is all loose and wild and boozy and poor Michael dips into her sauce and gets drunk.

You're right.

That was two different episodes. The one where Michael got drunk is when Florida was hired to do a commercial for some drink and they didnt know it had alcohol in it because they were promoting it as a health drink.

The cousin was an alcoholic, that was during the christmas episode of season 2.

Flo: J.J., say grace.

J.J.: The Lord is my German Shepherd...

ROTFLMAPPLESAUCE!

Their neighbor was Gertie played by the late Frances Foster, aka Alex's maid Vera on GL. "Peanut!"

Okay, so I just Google'd "Frances Foster Gloria Foster" to see if they were sisters, and I got Shavar Ross' (Duddley, "Diff'rent Strokes") Flickr page!

4.25.10, SON Salutes Sitcoms!

OKOK, I remember now. "Vitabrite is DY-NO-MITE!!"

Remember the pimp/street hustler who randomly appeared in episodes? "My name is Lennaaaaayyyy." He flashed some poor old white woman in an elevator lol

I say we keep it going for however long it lasts! Maybe not give every show a thread, but at least have open discussion in one thousand-page thread. I'm good for at least 50 more shows. I was a Nick-at-Nite/TVLand/TBS/syndication junkie when I was a kid. Still would be if they showed the right shows...

I have three words, "DAMN, DAMN, DAMN". Probably one of the most dramatic and memorable scenes on a sitcoms, Good Times tackled a lot of drama. I can't forget to mention the episode where JJ painted Sweet Daddy Williams' girlfriend, Savannah and she went off because she didn't like it, so hysterical.
