It's certainly a story though that a soap HW accepted a lower AHW position at a competing soap. As Khan mention in the writers/directors thread, we expected her to land somewhere as HW immediately rather than a staff writer.

And where exactly did you two expect her to land? In this shrinking market already full of hacks?

This is like when someone joins as a consultant — you just know he or she will be the next head writer. She secured a job really quickly, months in advance. And it's not a competing soap — it can't be when it got cancelled.

I honestly think ABC is done supporting Carlivati (if they ever supported him to begin with and tired of the show's tanking demos and ratings). They already hired Kreizman/Swajeski for AMC, so it would be no surprise if they hire another hack from a canceled PGP soap.

I dunno why, I have a feeling they're putting her as AHW to prep her to take over for RC. I think RC is a goner, maybe by the summer.

I forgot. But I absolutely loved Eric Dearborn's chemistry with Eden Riegel and Erica trying to hook them up.

I remember the whole "pate" thing, when Bianca set up a picnic for the both of them and he just tore into everything.

I wish they would have kept the character on, at least as a friend to Bianca until they found a more suitable love interest(other than boring ass Rosa).

That was there chance to make Binks straight. As for Rosa her problem was they hired a 30 year old to play her. The actress plays the ADA on LAw@Order!

I actually never thought they were supportive of his "efforts". They just used him for some sinister or God-will-know-which end. His appointment always rang weeeiirrrd, fishy to me.

So that she can familiarise herself with the current canvas even though she "knows" the show. You can already see a sh!tty statement for the press about her naming.

OLTL is very crappy and unwatchable at the moment; so I say give her a chance.

Well I'm not shocked by this news. Certainly find it frustrating that soaps continue to hire the same hack writers over and over. You don't see this happen in prime-time to this extent. Time to bring in some new fresh blood and stop recycling the same bad people. I suspect she's being brought in to bring the show to a close and that Ron will probably be out by summer. Sad for OLTL. Last year it was so good and watched everyday, but now it's just a total crapshoot and about to get worse with this news.

I am. I shouldn't be for the reasons you mentioned, but I'm truly shocked. I actually thought this was an April Fool's Day joke or a horrible rumor when I saw it mentioned on another board.

Well on the bright side, this should hush the OLTL cancellation rumors for now.
