As the soap turned 63 on Wednesday, April 1, “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini took to social media to thank the fans for tuning in after all these years, while also teasing “big plans” for the show looking ahead.
“I would like to take a moment and thank all of the fans who have helped @GeneralHos2pital reach its 63rd Anniversary,” commented Valentini on X (formerly Twitter). “Today is a very special day and celebrating it with all of you means the world to us. We have big plans going into this new season. Stay tuned.”
While not giving any specific details away in his message, the daytime drama series has a few storylines winding up to whet the appetite of its viewers, including the return of Nathan Dean (formerly Parsons) as Ethan Lovett this month, the reveal that Nathan West is actually Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey), how Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) will deal with Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) killing his boyfriend, Marco, and how the city will rally in support of a traumatized Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), plus the multi-episode story arc featuring “Aladdin” on Broadway star Michael James Scott, among numerous other storylines.
Valentini has been executive producer of “General Hospital” since 2012, making him the longest-serving EP in the show’s history, surpassing James Young, at 14 years. He previously served in the same capacity at “One Life to Live.”
Under his guidance, the long-running soap opera has earned seven Emmy Awards for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, five of which were consecutively, including the show’s win in 2025.
