I think Eileen Davidson at least has alot to do with that. Ive read on other boards of people who never watched the show checking it bc they saw Ashley from Y&R on it. Alot of black people who only watched ATL are watching it bc of that connection

Ramona's pissed, so that means she's here to stay! The show needs buzz and drama. If Ramona is flipping her [!@#$%^&*] over this new lady, you can bet they'll keep her around.

Ramona, Sonja, LuAnn, Bethenny, Carole, Heather, Kristen, & New Girl. Eight ladies, though? They'll probably just keep her as a friend unless they downgrade someone else. (Kristen!)

I would love to see the day they pulled a Heather Locklear/Melrose Place maneuver with the opening, and have someone be a permanent Special Guest Star. They could do that with Bethenny :)

Yet another winner of an episode as we begin the steady climb to more heightened drama. The show just works better when it isn't a constant stream of dark, ugly drama between a bunch of petty women. These episodes provide us with balance that we need to sustain the season!

Eileen's frosty, nervous energy is a cover for a slightly insecure, slightly dorky woman. Nothing wrong with that! Eileen is who she is and she owns it. It's nice to see that the family friendly atmosphere on daytime soap sets that Erika Slezak and Susan Lucci raved about back in the 80s remains in the industry.

Brandi's single scene doing her podcast was more than enough exposure to her.

Yolanda's scenes were what we've come to expect of her: she worships David unfailingly. It isn't offensive and she has a wonderful smile. But, whatever.

Loved the two Lisas in Palm Springs. Lisa R is so positive and joyous, just love her. The thing about Lisa's Max dating an older woman is that it shouldn't surprise her: boys go for women that remind them of their mothers. Lisa is an old soul, in the best sense of the word, she's a very glamorous, refined woman...he isn't going to find that in 25 year olds. So he goes a decade older. Sure, Max is looking for a "mummy"...but so did Ken's son and that one worked out great!

Kim was quite likeable in this episode as it emerges that she and Monty have a complicated history (his second ex-wife was getting her makeup done with Kim and all seemed cordial) and she's done a lot for him. It appears Kim has a few crosses to bear, which is likely why she's been such a messy drunk and ridiculously bad dog owner in the past...but she has many redeeming features. Kyle, of course, tried to make the wedding as much about her as it was about Kim, Monty and their daughter. The highlight of the wedding scenes, aside from the positively beaming groom, was Kathy Hilton looming on her front steps, looking like the classic Beverly Hills matron, coldly blanking Kyle while telling Kim she was doing great. That was just too delicious for words. Kathy just seems to loathe Kyle. If ever someone deserved Special Guest Star billing, it is Kathy Hilton.

Yes. My closest friends tell me often that when they met me or that other people met me...I had an air about me. Some people even say that I'm a bitch because they do not get my sense of humor which can be quite dry or racy depending on my mood. Once you get to know me, they know I'm a total Brooke Davis. lol.

My coworkers are the same way. they see the efficient, if somewhat quirky, coworker. They definitely have seen the bitch. lol. But I'm a good guy and those close to me at work know this. Those around them know it. It is only my haters that dislike me. But I have no time for bs and call them on it so that is probably why.

Based on seeing how Eileen is on the show, I can totally see why her and Brandi will not get along. From reading Brandi's blog, she was a DAYS fan gurl back in the day and was a john/Marlena fan. I'm guessing that Brandi will be a total fan gurl to Eileen.. perhaps asking question after question which will put Eileen on guard since she seems a little more aloof and guarded then Brandi (que the scene in the super trailer where Eileen telling someone.. most likely Brandi.. that her checking up on her life is super creepy). Hence I could totally see Brandi bringing up the 'adultery/home wrecker' stuff.. and maybe even bringing up the old rumour of her being a man.

Unlike Adrienne.. Eileen will most likely address things head-on without quitting... and unlike Joyce, will probably be able to get in the mud with Brandi and beat her. Didn't reports say that most everyone (even Yolanda) sided with Eileen over Brandi?

LOL! I will SCREAM if Brandi brings up the rumors of Eileen being a man!! That would be TV GOLD!! Plus you know Eileen would eat that bitch alive. Personally I love Eileen so far. I'm very similar in that I can come off very aloof and people have a lot of trouble reading me. I like her vibe and I think all of her scenes have been interesting.

Brandi interviewed Andy. It was pretty uncomfortable to watch. I get the vibe that he doesn't care much for her and she knows it. I don't want Leann on housewives as that means we'd be stuck with the herpster for years to come.

The dynamic between the three of them is EVERYTHING.

Kyle acts like she supports Kim while not so secretly wanting to see her fail and getting her wish all too often. Meanwhile, Kathy - the queen of this band of sisters - really loves Kim and doesn't seem to care much about the "put together," and thirsty one of her siblings, Kyle.

So happy Kathy has been willing to participate more this season. I don't want her to become a full-pledged regular because too much reality TV ruins the mystique.

Kathy and the inclusion of Kim's immediate family - the sick ex and her newlywed daughter - has really infused Kim's entire storyline.

Kim and Yolanda were the ones you'd figure would be the least alluring storyline wise going into this season but so far their storylines have had the most pop.

    • I remember seeing him briefly when Rick went to confront her about her blackmailing him. (I briefly forgot that Rick's sleeping with Claire at this time was a retcon - or her lying that she slept with him, whatever that story was). I wonder if he interacted with Kurt given that Mark Lewis later took his ATWT role. I tried to watch some of the full episode and it was all so alien and uninvolving. Roxy having a meltdown on that construction site for Mindy and Kurt's house that never gets built. Ed with Ross and Vanessa dealing with custody issues. Even Ross and Vanessa seemed flat, with Vanessa seeming oddly meek.
    • She did. It was during a party at Amanda's. She didn't literally throw herself at him, but she was subtly coming on to him and he quickly shut her down. Yes, I remember she not only made a pass at Justin, she convinced Jackie that he was harassing her sexually. She also tried to convince Sara that he was pestering her. Everyone banged Josh back then, LOL. Whoa. I must have missed a good chunk of this first time around because I don't remember Reva going to India.  What I recall is Harley being a nanny to the kids and then Reva driving off the bridge. Then they kind of toyed with the idea of Josh and Harley getting together but I don't think that ever happened. Yes, that all happens but I don't recall the tumor. Maybe that's coming up soon with the videos being uploaded to Spauldingfield. The last one I watched, she was planning to vamp Kyle while taking care of the pregnant Maeve.
    • I am a little disappointed that the show will be writing Jenn as in the wrong for her not liking Cat, when she's actually in the right.  Maybe if Cat was played by a competent actress and had a purpose, I would be more behind this propping of the character. And I can't wait for the funeral for John Black to be over and then we can proceed and move on.
    • I'm not sure if the boy Carrie 2 seduced (I think his name was Ron) was still in high school or in college, but I remember he was very shy. I don't recall her making a pass at Alan, but she did make one at Justin, and she ended up banging Josh. I think there was an out of town business man too. Reva thought Josh and Vanessa were having an affair. Vanessa had just been fired by Roger, and when Reva took off to India, Van started helping Josh with the children. He then hired Van to work at Lewis. She would hear him on a business call with Van and think they were arranging a tryst. Or they sat too close together on the couch, so of course they were hiding an affair from her. It was very weird and blew up really quick.  It culminated at the party Reva was throwing at the club to introduce Dylan to Justin. Reva imagined everyone whispering about her and then she dumped a tray of drinks on Vanessa. When Vanessa hauled her into the ladies room to ask WTF, Reva accuses them of having an affair, asks if Van's pregnant, and then knocks her to the floor. I do think Claire had a tumor. I know around Valentine's day, Claire is making passes at a young businessman (or maybe even someone college age), and Ross (Van kinda pushed her at him because she's not keen on Calla). There's also a young intern played by Burke Moses that I think she sleeps with.

If the standard of play in the women's final yesterday wasn't of the highest caliber, that is not something you could say about today's final. It was absolutely fantastic tennis.
    • When Barbara's letter was read (partly in Barbara's voice), there was commenting upthread that Barbara's voice is similar to the voice of Naomi's unhoused client June.  It did sound like her.  June is played by Jasmine Burke.  Per closing credits, Barbara was voiced by Sherita Bolden.  Still possible that they are connected. From our discussion on the May thread:  Looks and/or voices similar between June, Haley, and Tracy.   Tracy looks like Debbi Morgan. LOL so June might be connected to Haley, Tracy, or Barbara; and/or Samantha&Tyrell. I love that we don't know!
    • In the 1987 episodes, Mary has wonderful conversations with MJ and Cheryl. This is a realistic family with believable dynamics. Mary's ambivalence towards Vince is played nicely. Denise Alexander is so good here. I don't know what happened that the writers or producers just decided to chuck it all away. I don't FF these scenes. The show had a strong family that could have had years of storyline and they did nothing with them. I really don't get it.
    • I can't speak for Sonni, but I thought Annie came off as neurotic from very early on. That's just how Cynthia Watros plays her parts, and the writing went along. I don't think Claire was mentally ill - they claimed she had a brain tumor, didn't they? I am never sure just why they made the effort given that she was leaving anyway.
    • @DeeVee Claire is a perfect example. So many women came to Springfield as competent, smart, and talented professionals. Then they’d attract a so-called “good guy,” get dumped, and spiral into complete chaos. What always strikes me is how clearly it plays like a male fantasy—yet it was written and sold to a female audience.  I'm not a content expert, but I don't think cis gendered women fantasize about losing control of their mental faculties in response to an orgasm. Similar to Holly's story, it seems repulsive, because I don't believe women fantasize about becoming more vulnerable and appealing to men after they've been assaulted.
