Y&R: First look at recast Heather Stevens

I have no idea what the plan is for Heather with Eden in the role other than the character will get more airtime obviously. Are there spoilers about Heather becoming a home wrecker or is this your speculation? Because if Heather become the third wheel in an established couple, I don't think that VB's looks is enough to sell that story. Yeah, she is hot, but I don't find it unbelievable that on a soap that a man would be attracted to an attractive woman with brains which is the role that Eden is likely to play.

In contrast, I don't buy that a man or woman could be attracted to that hag Mac.

There are no women with brains on Y&R.

It's not so much that I believe Eden has to fail at Y&R as I believe that the show is so poorly written and produced that they have no idea how to bring in new characters. Even Billy Miller and Liz Hendrickson, who were praised up, down, and around for much of last year and who seem to be the main reason Eden was hired, have been put in one bad story and one bad pairing after another. It doesn't matter if the show likes you or hates you, they can't write.

I also think that the way she and Marcy Rylan were shoehorned into these strange roles suggests desperation on Y&R's part and that's never a great sign. It's also in the back of my head just what a poor job Hogan did at ATWT when they recast Dusty and Paul. Paul in particular was destroyed.

I don't have a problem with Eden, I liked her well enough on AMC. It's everything else with this I have a problem with.

Oh come on Khan, I hear he makes a mean pastrami on rye.

He's going to star in Hogan's newest online soap "As The Stomach Grumbles".

I didn't think anything could top the epic fail that was nuMalcolm. As usual, God proved me wrong.

Meanwhile, I'm calling for Mo'Nique as nuDru, and Countess Vaughn as nuLily. Y&R gets an Oscar winner AND a "Parkers" reunion.

Well Countess Vaughn can act circles around CK. I'm all for it.

But I think WEndy Williams she should be a nunu recast for Malcolm. She looks the part.

She doesn't look believable as the DA.

She looks de-aged like they're putting her with the Daniel/Kevin crowd.

Isnt that her age group? Heather always came across to me like she was Kevin's age

They should have had Malcolm's return story be explained that the reason he stayed away for so long and never returned when it was reveald that Lily was his daughter was bc he is gay. He was busy getting his sex change operation and has been living a new life as Wendy Winters

Wendy (as Malcolm/Malquisha, asking about Lily): "Is the bitch dead or what?"

She doesn't look believable as the DA.

Neither did Vail.

She looks de-aged like they're putting her with the Daniel/Kevin crowd.

Which is where she should have been.

Marcy Rylan would have been a better choice as a Heather recast

MR sure would have been better as Heather. But how we going to get Maggie & Bianca reunion if ER doesn't be Heather. They could have always casts ER as Mac but who wants to be obvious.

I think she is, but isn't ER younger than MR? I think what they should have done is reverse these roles. Eden could have been the recast Abby, who now is more like Victor. They played that game a few times with Victoria, so it's not like it's unprecedented. Of course, it would have worked much better if the character were off screen for 6 months or so. Marcy looks more like Paul's daughter and seems closer to the age group Heather should be in.

Marcy Rylan looks like Beth Chamberlin overdosed on eyeliner in this pic.

What pisses me off about the Abby recast is that she isn't going to be her own character, she's going to be a replacement Colleen.
