March 11, 201016 yr Member Pissy should not be allowed to work in television again. If she and Goutman end up at OLTL, I am out!
March 11, 201016 yr Member Frons can always use OLTL's crappy ratings and demos as an excuse to fire Carlivati and Valentini. Never mind that quality and ratings often don't correlate, but it would be right up his alley to hire Goutman and Passanante, even though they would be coming from a canceled show.
March 11, 201016 yr Member How long before we see them on Y&R? Scott as the new Noah and Brett as Kyle Abbott. It will happen. Watch.
March 11, 201016 yr Member Add Ellen Wheeler to the mix too while he's at it. Eleen Wheeler will replace Julie Hanan Carruthers at AMC: LA. Frons will cite the fact that she was once an actress on the show, therefore she knows the show. Edited March 11, 201016 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
March 11, 201016 yr Member Passannante, didn't she write for OLTL in the mid-90s? Or am I thinking of someone else? I remember 1996, the year of dullness, was that her, Sloane, Laiman? Or another woman?

March 11, 201016 yr Member The sad thing is I really believe Ellen would be a better producer than Carruthers. Well, she gets most of her flack for her unwillingness to admit Peakpack was a huge mistake creatively.... I guess my disdain mainly comes from that and how she bragged how hip she was for coming up with this production model that would "save" the show....
March 11, 201016 yr Member And I have to agree (and I know they do have a few fans) but the appeal of Gigi and Rex is lost on me as well. Farah is charismatic but she cannot do drama. High drama. Emotion. JPL is a one trick pony if there ever was one. I think OLTL's biggest weakness in the last 10 years has been casting. The younger set on OLTL is incredibly hit or miss. There is a certain young actress who I still cannot believe has been on OLTL as long as she has. She is no great shakes in the looks department and her acting "style" boggles my mind. I find her awful. I still love OLTL, it seems that I will be the only one left watching!
March 11, 201016 yr Member Actually, before Goutman became an outright hack, I was always hoping that one day he would return to AMC as EP. He really cut his teeth in soap directing and in production at AMC in the late 80's an 90's. But that was then, and this is now...

The quality wasn't always there but some of the show was good. Carruthers is just a yes woman who bleeds money. AMC has been in the red several times during her tenure. But I don't want Wheeler/Kreizman together again, so he'd have to go.
