Members catsmeouch
Why does Paul Rauch control the lighting? Isn't there a lighting director in charge of that? And why change the lighting when it has worked all these years?

Members alphanguy74
I think he does... I think the lighting director simply "executes" Rauch's orders... but I could be wrong. The producer has always been the one in charge of it for the last 37 years.
Members alphanguy74
Anything?? ANYTHING??!!! Well, since you put it that way...... somehow if Y&R gets cancelled, and he finds himself out of work for some time, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in one of those soft core porn movies they have on Cinemax... the actor who played Brian Hamilton was in one!! I was surfing one night, and there was his bare butt... right in front of me. But hey, didn't Muhney WEAR the dress today for a hot minute? Members DRW50
Muhney uploaded two photos of himself in the dress. http://twitpic.com/16ev8n http://twitpic.com/16eve9 He probably looks better than I would so I'm not going to say anything Y&R really is back in the 50s. Multiple actors are in drag yet homosexuality is unspoken, or frowned on.

Members alphanguy74
That gave me a good chuckle. A taller man looks better in the purple dress.

Members Llantano Incorporated
Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. I knew Y&R had lost something the other day when I saw that backdrop in the park scenes with Jack and Diane's kid. It really looked like something out of an off broadway show or high school play. Good lighting can completely enhance a show and give it a tone. As much as I loved Rauch's OLTL, that lighting scheme was beyond awful. Check out the Youtube video with Andrea Evans giving a tour of OLTL to Regis from the 80's. You get to see these huge, mammoth lights they had- AND SO MANY OF THEM. But on that show, at that time, somehow it worked. He was quoted as saying he wanted an upbeat feel and for the actors eyes to shine (I read this in an interview with the lighting directors) On Y&R, a show known for near movie level production values? This is a shame. And not to mention the fact that show is in HD! I would love to know why La Dickson hated Y&R's lighting!! Good lighting is an actor's best friend. Members alphanguy74
Well, it was Conboy's lighting in the 70's she hated, because the light *did* come from a very high angle. But it worked... but she had nothing to bitch about, they could have lit her with a flashlight and string of Christmas bulbs and she'd still have looked good.
