I think that happened earlier in the month for May Sweeps. They were probably 2nd place that week too, and just held down that spot the entire month.

I am talking about the one where Marlena killed 9 people, and they all ended up alive on an island named Melaswen.

Amazing. I can see Y&R outlasting all the soaps for awhile.

Here's the DAYS transcripts for the last weke they were in 2nd place in total viewers:

Does indeed sound like New Salem spelled backwards story.

ETA: Marlena alive in a casket here (reading more) ... DAYS and their buried alive stories, heh. Yeah I stopped watching DAYS in late 2002 so right before New Salem or New Salem, I'm not sure.

Agreed. I'm very impressed by their demos: "156th time in 157 weeks and first in women 18-49"

Yes, I believe it was. I was so psyched too. Too bad things started to do way down after that week. *sigh* Damn you Ken Corday and Stephen Wyman for handcuffing Reilly. :(

Thanks for that...that was the most surreal week ever, I was glued to my television!!!

I started watching about a year before that storyline...I remember it basically, but I would love to watch it from the start again.

YouTube helps a lot, if you just look up "Melaswen" there's tons of videos from DAYS during that storyline.

If only SOAPnet aired those episodes at a specific time or something everyday. I would love that

    • The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.

    • The counts seem small even for B&B. Thanks for posting!
    • Sooo Nick is inviting Sharon to France for this Dumas party thing. The same place they reconnected years ago during the Shick/Phick years. I wonder if it’s going to be on location? I’m going to assume not. I’m sure Y&R doesn’t have that kind of budget anymore.
    • Agree. The catfights at the clothing store alone...lol.   That's how I feel about Teresa as well. Cheryl I feel seems to blend much better with Sara's breakdowns, but I definitely love her dialogue no matter who she is with.  They also forget replies about missing plot points and theories about why they might be missing so...   YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS   Oh how that scene lives rent free in my head and when it pops up online I will always watch.
