Yikes! When will people learn about the horrors of injectable silicone?? I guess as long as there are people who have an "okay" result, this will go on. It's especially popular among urban male to female transexuals.

There was an episode of the Tyra show about cosmetic procedures gone wrong (includng implants that'll change the color of your eyes), and in a very similar manner to the story above, a young lady arranged a hotel meeting on a message board devoted to such things where she had car grade oil/lubricant/silicone or whatever injected into her butt cheeks. She became deathly ill but luckily survived (with scars). She said the "procedure" was so painful she asked the injector to stop but she said she had to finish the job for the sake of her reputation on the message board, that the lady might give her a bad review.

alpha, is that Cyndi Lauper?? It could be a chem peel but I think it's a laser because those look like grid marks on her face.

Cyndi :(

What confuses me is why this woman flew all the way to the US. Is this banned in the UK? In the US it says it's banned too.

If it's anything like the story on Tyra, there are "specialists" who have great reputations that get spread around on these message boards. It's all a sordid operation and they meet at these hotels bringing their own muscle with them and they rush in and out. Scary stuff, the lengths to which people will go. There was a famous L.A. real estate agent who had silicone injected into her face. She spent years having it removed chunk by chunk and she eventually succumbed to the cancer in her face that it caused.

That's horrible. I wish there was more moderation. I guess there probably is any we just hear about the worst.

Whatever is wrong with Cyndi's face here, I hope it's better.

I was watching Hot in Cleveland tonight and Melanie Griffith showed up (playing herself). The audience barely reacted to most of the scene. While that might have been down to some not that great lines, I also wonder if it was reacting to her face. The person I was watching with asked how much surgery she'd had.

I think Melanie has a certain soft yet tough comic appeal and it was nice to see her again, she wasn't too bad in the episode, but I miss her old face.

I just want to be clear that--more cuz of her stage work--Angela Lansbury is a fave of mine, and I think the video prob is a great service and well done. But I do find the clip funny :)

I'm glad you made that clear because I was just about to call Angela personally and she was going to have Stephen Sondheim egg your car.

Were you one of the critics for Bounce?

That Estelle video - she seems to be rushing through her jokes. It's interesting as she had perfect comic timing on GG. The editing that the uploader used to fit the whole tape into 4 minutes just about gave me a seizure.

First of all, Joan Collins looks perfect :)

I have started watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and I love Lisa's looks. She has had excellent work done (I want that nose) and she knows how to look more beautiful with the right make up and the right hair. This is what a soap diva should look like.
