I tried to upload my fave Mitchell dance number on film, the One Alone pas de deux from Deep In My Heart with Cyd Charisse--but it won't let me include the audio. Boo

That's cool! It looked like he had some break dancing moves.

BTW in a very weird thing, James' IMDB page has this random listing:

"Home and Away" .... Jonah Abraham (1 episode, 2005)

- Episode #1.4095 (2005) TV episode .... Jonah Abraham

Was he really on one episode of Home and Away (the Aussie soap?) five years ago>?

Maybe they got him mixed up with another James Mitchell.

The Spring isn't that long a wait--it's usually 6-8 weeks before they have a funeral episode, isn't it?

Eric, thanks for trying and youtube sucks. I forget, does Dailymotion allow audio? At the very least you could upload it at megaupload or someplace like that for downloading.

imdb.com has a blurb in their news section and I've seen articles on the front pages of many news organization's websites today as well. Its nice to see he is getting alot of recognition. Its so sad. :( I have been watching various clips of Palmer on youtube over the last few days. He really never missed a beat, even in the past few years when he was obviously frail. I really hope they do a good send off on AMC.

He was the best. He is the only actor, soap or otherwise, I ever felt the urge to send a letter to thanking them for all the years of entertainment I was given. It's a shame that youtube who was uploading Adam's masquerade ball seems to have stopped right as the ball was starting. That was another Palmer moment worth seeing--and especially when Adam had the stroke.

From SID website:

UPDATE: An AMC spokesperson tells Soaps In Depth that the soap is planning on doing a tribute to Mitchell, but that the episode likely won't air until later this spring — in order to give newly appointed headwriting team David Kreizman and Donna Swajeski (who have yet to begin) time to settle in and pen something "amazing."

So Broderick won't be doing it? How sad.

Amazing.... what is the definition for AMAZING in ABC's dictionary these days?

Amazing by ABC's standards is mediocre. Look how they pimped the Anniversary show to be so great, and it was nothing but a showcase of Pratt's current stories with some old flashbacks thrown in

I am surprised that they are doing a tribute of their own free will. Hell TK had to fight to even get the show to do a tribute to Eileen Herlie when she died.
