Members Chris B
http://twitter.com/SoapDigest Wow. What sad and shocking news. Palmer and Opal were always my favorite couple when tuning into AMC. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Members MichaelGL
Wow. I am so shocked by this, we only saw him a few weeks ago on AMC during the anniversary special. The acting world has truly lost a legend, as has Pine Valley. My deepest sympathies to this family.

Members AMCHistory
Wow, this breaks my heart. At least we got one last hoorah for Palmer and James in 2010. His appearance in the 40th Anniversary is going to be something to treasure; much like Ruth Warrick's final appearance at the 35th Anniversary show. I appreciate that the show offered to film in his home to ensure his participation. Let's hope Daniel Kennedy, Taylor Miller, Peter Bergman, Brian Gaskill, and Gillian Spencer are among the guests invited back for Palmer's funeral. Members dragonflies
I hope they give him some kind of tribute, but knowing Frons..... I wonder if they'll kill off Palmer, or do like they did with Langley when the actor who played him passed
Members Jonathan
It makes me sad. We've had the chance to watch these performers for many years and then one day they're gone.
Members AMCHistory
Moments like this make me remember the many veterans who passed on after giving us viewers so many years of joy. RIP: Kay Campbell, Hugh Franklin, Fra Heflin, Ruth Warrick, Eileen Herlie and our beloved, James Mitchell.
Members All My Shadows
Wow man, talk about deja vu. This is so similar to Ruth Warrick's death five years ago. Farewell to one of Pine Valley's finest! Often nominated for the Emmy, but never a winner, yet always a winner in the hearts of AMC fans everywhere. I'm very thankful to be able to see him and Palmer in their prime through YouTube. RIP, James, you will be forever missed!
