I actually think Mona would have said "Oh, Erica!" *several* times and rolles her eyes worriedly :D And THAT would be the end of it.

Not sure I agree... I doubt Pratt had barely anything to do with how Hayley came off--she's on for two episodes, he didn't write any of her dialogue, we're not even sure if he came up with the concept of this anniversary show at all, and she's not involved in one of his crazy plots. So...

I do think that Hayley's reaction to Annie was a bit overdone, but it was a nice change from what they might have done in the past, which was Hayley giving her father a long lecture on his failures.

I think a lot has to do with Kelly's delivery as well. She tends to have a snappy type of delivery, especially as the years have gone by. In her last year or so on the show, when she was doing AMC and Regis & Kelly, she had that type of delivery.

David/Greenlee almost happened after Leo and Vanessa died. It would have made sense, actually. Both of them lost Leo, David lost Dixie the same year, and Greenlee lost her father. At that point, Ryan was gone, so there were no other options for her, and I don't know if David/Anna was happening yet. For whatever reason, they went with Greenlee/Trey, but that didn't last long either.

I just watched yesterday's episode and I saw how they looked at each other in those scenes and there was definitely sparks. They clearly have some feelings for each other.

On soaps, once they show gratitude that's when something starts between them.

Randi hasn't even been on-screen with Frankie for weeks or mentioned in any spoilers but Madison has.

    • Very disappointed in the writers in the way they are screwing with Nicole, Ted,  and Kat to make Leslie remain viable. So many holes everywhere.
    • Somebody brought this up elsewhere which emphasizes why this NuTed appears as such a weakling? Why is Kat doing what HE should be doing? And that's everything he can to rid him and his family of this crazy woman. Kat is doing all kinds of things she shouldn't do but now I understand her more. She can't count on her father to eliminate this woman because he's a wimp. He's been too busy inviting her into his home and serving her drinks and offering her invitations to birthday parties. WIMP!!!!

    • This is (maybe) overly simplistic and nonsoapy, but Doug needs to go to Gamblers Anonymous, to deal with the addictive neurological excitement hits that gambling gives him - and which control his life. Vanessa needs to go to therapy to find ways to remain healthfully lusty and sex-positive, but to stay away from anyone who would demean her.
    • YT keeps commending GL clips to me. I discovered Kathleen Cullen was on in Christmas 1987. Was there any talk of making it permanent  or was this just a special visit? I wish they had made the visit permanent. I liked her chemistry with Grant Aleksander.
    • I'm not sure it's as unpopular as you think.  I just think the show knew they were in a bind, and needed a proven couple for the viewers to invest in. Trying to reunite Vanessa and Ross had just failed in 87. I don't think Ed and Holly's affair was well received, as Simon and Garrett had a brother/sister chemistry. Enter Billy and Vanessa, who give you history and an out not to try and do a Josh/Reva/Billy triangle, which would've really wrecked the relationship between Josh and Billy. I'd have been ok with trying Vanessa/Ross again, and doing a Vanessa/Ross/Holly/Billy quad for a while. I hated Nadine. HATED. She had to be the most insufferable also-ran before ATWT's Julia Lindsay. This is where I wish I knew Roger's history better.

    • GROSS. Michael Swan was hot back in his ATWT days. Now he's 76 and WAY past his hot years.
    • Since she kidnapped, locked up and tried to kill her father's wife I'd say that is still a pretty big deal
    • I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.
