January 5, 201016 yr Member I wouldn't mind an AMC increase mostly because I hope that this might give some confidence to a good writer if a good writer replaces Pratt. I don't want them to have to feel like, with a ratings drop, they need to have Ryan shoot Opal in the head.
January 5, 201016 yr Member Yeah, for a few weeks. GL/ATWT have been consistently the last two in demos for years. True..but now AMC...thank u...lord...is down in the demos...1.0...aint nothing to write about..and poor OLTL is where ATWT is now....I am just saying that 1.1...isnt too far from say a .9....too much is put on those damn 18-49 demos.....oh well.....at least I can enjoy the ratings now since ATWT wont be on much longer.....or will I.....lol
January 5, 201016 yr Member Man those numbers for OLTL suck. Yes they do, don't they? They lost a half a million viewers in the last year. Edited January 5, 201016 yr by marceline
January 5, 201016 yr Member Yes they do, don't they? They lost a half a million viewers in the last year. Is it all the Mitch stuff?? Stacey??...I don't care for either story. Mitch has been recycled so many times a la James Stenbeck. Rex and Gigi are a bottomless pit for OLTL too.
January 5, 201016 yr Member The bungled Todd story, Stacy/Gigi/Rex, etc. I'm sure some might also blame Kish, or Mitch's return.

I want to see AMC increase because it'll only boost the morale of the show and won't make the writers think that they have to do something drastic like your idea up there, to shoot for a ratings increase...

But it's odd when AMC is now ABCD's number 1 show and Pratt is fired. They certainly wouldn't consider hiring him back I hope. Edited January 5, 201016 yr by JaneAusten

It just goes to show quality does not always resonate to ratings.

Funny how I hated his OLTL when he was getting praised and I am enjoying it now that the ratings are low. AMC IMO doesnt have quality yet they have higher ratings....go figure... Didn't he kill one character every month. He should have been fired along time ago. I hope they never hire him back.

January 5, 201016 yr Member Didn't he kill one character every month. He should have been fired along time ago. I hope they never hire him back. Pratt and Guza both have a penchant for killing characters especially legacy characters. Guza lost close to a million viewers between the beginning and end of 2007 after killing off 3 in one year plus 2 more and nada. Pratt's reign at AMC while storywise is just terrible, seemed to oddly stabalize the show to an extent and he's fired. Not that he shouldn't have been but go figure it out. I can't.
January 5, 201016 yr Member WTF is going on with OLTL? They're hemorraging viewers very badly yet TIIC don't want to seem to stop that hemorraging
January 5, 201016 yr Member When they kill Stuart and come up with a lame ass resolution all for shock value it deserves nothing but pure failure!! That was a terrible story and dragged out much too long. You know aside from Y&R the demos for the other shows are pretty close. Days and GH at 1.2, B&B at 1.1, AMC at 1.0 and OLTL and ATWT at .9. Not that great a diff. And what's interesting is Y&R has lost approx 330,000 viewers from a year ago and 220,000 of them are men. And we know these shows don't really care about male viewers do they? At least ATWT's demos haven't dropped within the past year. Edited January 5, 201016 yr by JaneAusten
January 5, 201016 yr Member When they kill Stuart and come up with a lame ass resolution all for shock value it deserves nothing but pure failure!! Yeah I agree. I am watching it again cause of Greenlee and Haley. The writing is still on the wall tho. I read somewhere i'm not sure if it was just a rumor or not, but Kelly Ripa said the same thing about the writing. That was a terrible story and dragged out much too long. Yeah it did that's one reason why I stopped watching it for awhile.
