Maria: "We're still Number One, so what does it matter?!"

With that sad, I'd say some of his picks were pretty good.

Well, she'll be pleased to know she got the Worst Plot Ever award. :)

Eh, it doesn't matter because nothing is being done. It's just a waste of paper or webpage - CBS/Sony will do nothing about this.

End of an Era This was also the year the accountants sent a message to our daytime superstars: You don’t matter anymore.

It was all about budget cuts.

...Right.

No one said anything about matter/does not matter. That's what the Potpourri thread serves for. :)

I know Ellen Wheeler gets tons of criticism for what she did at GL. But she did manage to give the show another year, keeping a lot of people employed for another year also. Had it worked, she would have been hailed as a savior, no?

Probably. But that would only last 6 months, tops, after which she would be trashed even more than before and that what "worked" would've been called "controversial".

I wasn't talking about your comment, just generally about the Y&R criticism. It won't stop MAB.

Worst Plot Ever Y&R revealed that Phillip (Thom Bierdz) faked his death in a car crash 20 years ago and is still alive. What made him cause his family so much grief and torment? He didn’t want to admit he likes boys. Runner up: Y&R’s Case of the Bank-robbing Chipmunk. How did the soap we picked as the best of 2008 become the lamest of ’09?

I actually think the runner up is worse plot ever...LOL.

Congrats to Maria for having the two worsst plots of the year!

Well, at least that's some validation for Y&R fans who have been wondering WTF was going on with their show all year.

Of all the OLTL stories to label worst, he picks Dorian giving David a blowjob?

I actually think the runner up is worse plot ever...LOL.

Congrats to Maria for having the two worsst plots of the year!

The Patty Jane garbage and the gaslighting were much worse than Phillip's return. That's just an easier target.

pretty good picks, however i dont like what he said about the company that put on the emmys. no it was not a perfect show by any means, but it was a show put on by a guy who you can tell in ointerviews really cared about the daytime emmys being on air. Logan doesnt want them to do the next show? So he doesnt want a next show?

I like a lot of these picks. Just think about what it says about the homosexuality that in a world of blackmail, murder, assorted acts of cruelty and what have you, the thing that can drive you to fake your own death and hide for 20 years is you are gay.

The Dorian oral sex thing was a little icky, but he wasn't really a Buddhist monk so I don't think it was an affront to anything. I just find Robin Strasser sort of decaying and picturing her bob up and down on hunky Tuc Watkins is not a pretty visual.

But speaking of that Y&R gay shame, wasn;t this the decade where OLTL had a character who topped the Y&R shamefest, and decided that to make sure no one knew he was gay he would become a serial killer? I remember watching that story and enjoying it on one level for being OTT drama, but again, what is with these writers who have characters do the worst things to each other but still manage to sit down at thanksgiving together, just don't be gay!

Holly and Ethan on GH didn't bother me. I can't be offended retroactively. If this was 1985 I would be saying "bullshit!!!" but in 2009 I got more important problems than this. I can't find the energy to be offended for my 1985 self, and I wouldn't want to time travel back to inform me of these goings on lest I upset the space-time continuum.
