December 5, 200916 yr Member Y&R Friday: 2.5/3,478,000 (did not count - repeat) Wow!! This was the 4th most watched episode of the week. It just proves if people are home, they will watch Y&R. Amazing. It's certainly interesting that this was not even a new episode. If it was I wonder if the numbers would have fallen, given the state of the show now. I'm not surprised GH went up, although I was expecting more of an increase. What happened on AMC to make it go up? I don't get it. Too bad about OLTL and ATWT, and about DAYS going down a bit. Apparently any show I try to get into loses viewers.

Amazing. Must have been people waiting on the game. And with all due respect to you Toups, 2.5 is nothing to brag about.
December 5, 200916 yr Member ATWT continues to drop. Tuesday's numbers are awful. Cancellation sure looks even brighter for ATWT now. I'm hoping to the soap gods the decision to renew has already been made for next year, so these crappy numbers don't play into that decision.

Yeah....I'd brag about that! LOL
December 5, 200916 yr Member I'm hoping to the soap gods the decision to renew has already been made for next year, so these crappy numbers don't play into that decision. Rumors were that CBS was going to look closely at the November sweeps numbers. ATWT didnt do well at all during November sweeps. It might be just too late for ATWT to recover and hit 2.0 rating. I still dont get why the [!@#$%^&*] feast which is called AMC continues to go up. I think the show is damn gawd awful.
December 5, 200916 yr Member Good to see Days still going well although I was hoping they'd be tied with B&B they are still over 3 M viewers. Good for them GH. LMAO They're ratings actually dropped in the 18-34 demo and those 12 -17 viewers don't appear to be tuning in for the great Franco. It is nice that their best day was the Thanksgiving episode though and people are not buying the BS stnt casting and terrible storylines.

AMC is a clusterfeck but yet the ratings are not horrible. While I detest Pratt I still really would love to know why he was fired. It clearly didn't have anything to do with their ratings.
December 5, 200916 yr Member Y&R was also the only soap to air on Friday along with DAYS, even though Y&R was a repeat. DAYS did well with a 2.1, and of course Y&R was going to outrate DAYS. Just a few years ago Y&R repeats used to get 3.7's or 3.4's even...
December 5, 200916 yr I expected Days would drop some this week. Last week was the big week for Days with Sami briefly getting Sydney back. The fact Days only lost 24,000 viewers is not bad. They are still neck and neck with B&B. I was surprised to see AMC go up. I thought GH would rise and more proof that Franco won't do anything for GH's ratings.
December 5, 200916 yr Member Darn. I was hoping to see GH rise. Hopefully GH gets a new writer soon. Keep dreaming. If Guza did not get booted after losing 500K viewers in 2005 with the AJ mess and a million in 2007 with the year of death and destruction that cost them viewers, nothing will. He's on board this sinking ship until their bitter end. I just hope this Franco stuff tanks and he has to answer to someone as to why he wasn't able to pull in additional viewers with his wonderful story for James Franco.
December 5, 200916 yr Author Administrator Y&R was also the only soap to air on Friday along with DAYS, even though Y&R was a repeat. DAYS did well with a 2.1, and of course Y&R was going to outrate DAYS. Just a few years ago Y&R repeats used to get 3.7's or 3.4's even... This year beat the last two years: 2009: Friday: 2.5/3,478,000 (did not count - repeat) 2008: Friday: 2.3/3,134,000 (repeat - did not count) 2007: Friday: 2.3/3,332,000 (repeat - did not count)
December 5, 200916 yr Member It was luck. LOL Though, generally speaking, the ratings are pretty much on par with the trend of how they've done that day in the past two years. I wonder how they would do if all the other soaps, baring DAYS, aired that day.
December 5, 200916 yr Member This year beat the last two years: 2009: Friday: 2.5/3,478,000 (did not count - repeat) 2008: Friday: 2.3/3,134,000 (repeat - did not count) 2007: Friday: 2.3/3,332,000 (repeat - did not count) Another factor is that Y&R is not shown a number of markets in MT/PT zones because of college football. I think that coverage is pretty small. Think about it though. Friday's episode (a repeat), still beat the average of every other soap. Amazing.
