If this were true it would be troubling. Why create a third uber rich family (four if you count the Newman's, who are being phased out) when the ones on the canvas are so damaged? What a lack of creativity! The Chancellor's have been successfully revamped, they jsut need the right storylines. The Abbott's have gold in Kyle, Keemo, Diane and Dina if they show thought of it. Both could fill any void left by the lack of Victor. Let Jill take his place, but she's a woman so she'd never be given that power on this show.

Just based on the type of history mining stories they've told, they don't need a new family. They need to focus on what they have. The Williams could be re-established as a family unit, but they ruined Patty and are wasting Heather. The Barber-Winters have Olivia, Yolanda, Nate and Mamie sitting on the sidelines. Malcolm is being recast, which is good. If you don't wanna deal with VR, then bring back Vivica A. Fox as Stephanie and let her be that fiesty female character. Her star power would bring good press to the show and she's stated she'd LOVE to return to Y&R or join B&B.

They're not really a family though. They usually have separate storylines and their relationships with each other are no longer explored. Since the show is never going to do anything serious with Jill or with Phillip, and Mac and Chance exist only to be props for Chloe and Billy, that probably won't change.

The show doesn't do family anymore. I guess that's why a new family wouldn't bother me that much, if they actually write them as a family. If that would ever happen...

LOL. I assume that means he will be "involved in a front-burner story" which means that he will get one or two minor scenes when Chance gets shot. By all accounts, the less Phillip the better.

20 years from now, Katherine will reveal: "He quietly bribed a cop with lots of debts to provide him with an extra brain and heart found in a car crash victim in the morgue. He went to Australia to heal, and is good as new. Our P3 is ALIVE!".

ETA: And with the new brain, he is no longer gay. Therefore, he is finally entitled to a front burner storyline on a Bell soap.
