Cashton, I am not for a second writing Patty off, she could be one of the most interesting characters this show has had,but the writers are not interested in the character development and that is what Patty needs but will not get.

I love Diane, but what are the chances this writing regime won't degrade and victimize her?

The spermgate debacle and her last go around with Phyllis will probably pale in comparison to what this writing team would do to degrade her.

there's some truth to the fact they used Patty to goose ratings and create a "stunt" - but as I said before, it's my HOPE that they reveal some back story as they've been alluding to "Tracey: Something must have happened to Patty". This doctor treated Patty in her missing years. They're interested in the character, at least that's for sure, but maybe they're not developing her correctly, but i got hope for her girl! I really do!!!! Can you tell?

I love Diane. Kyle could be a teen now

If Y&R's current teen set as written is any indication of how they write and cast teens, then keep Kyle away.

They could add layers to Patty if they want to. I'm just not sure they do. I think they may feel more comfortable making her the generic crazy and then letting viewers find reasons to sympathize with her as she does more stuff to people.

Exactly.

The writing is NOT there.

Alex had so much chemistry with MTS.

She had it with ED too.

Jack Smith hosed her.

Stacy Haiduk should have been Diane.

Jack Smith hosed her.

Actually, Donnelley was off the show a year before Smith became HW.

  • Member

Eh. Yes.

Donnelley was fired by Ed Scott in early 2001 and Smith became HW in 2002. He was only associate HW before that.

Who the frick cares about who ousted AD as Diane, she was Diane and perfect for this storyline. My main beef with Y&R is that I can pull great storylines out of my brains and even still better storylines out of my ass than these writers are doing, yet I am writing on a message board only because my last name is not Bell.

Yep.

Smith became HW in 2002.

...And?

You know it's bad when almost every fanbase is angry.
