Yes, she would be up in his business still, with Holly mentoring her so that would get her out of Cooperville, plus, I always find cops written on soaps to be cheesy and the lines pulled out of prime time ("Rusty, I have had it up to HERE with your renegade ways, from now on your going by the book..") and the sets so...depressing.  Maybe when they brought her back she could have had a change of career....maybe she got shot in the line of duty and had post traumatic stress and that is why she and Mallet broke up. Or maybe for once a cop/lawyer whomever on a soap bent the rules and had real repercussions and she had her badge pulled...(maybe she got a little rough with a wife/child abuser and that would also give her and Beth's rivalry some nuance instead of just chasing after d*ck.)

I just saw a post on FB on Rachel Miner...Does anyone know if it was JFP or Malone who fired her on GL?

I think it was Michael Laibson. He was first credited as EP in late May 1995 and Rachel Miner was in the contract cast until June or July 1995.

1995 was probably the biggest turnover year as far as cast changes go.

From some digging this is what I came up with.

Departures: Jean Carol, Barbara Crampton, Hilary Edson, Scott Hoxby, Melina Kanakaredes, Rachel Miner, Kelly Neal, Monti Sharp, Eugene Troobnick, Marcy Walker

Arrivals: Frank Beaty, Rebecca Budig, Amy Cox, Russell Curry, Kevin Mambo, Wendy Moniz, Jennifer Roszell

Returns: Lisa Brown, Michael O'Leary, Kim Zimmer

I was hoping Roger would stop by and spill the beans but he must be awful busy.

1. Roger will be having all new soap opera actor interviews soon.

2. Roger is currently working on a WLS book.

Glad to hear Roger's working on new content.

LOL...I loathe Nadine with the heat of a thousand suns, but Nadine/Billy/Vanessa is so soapy. And watching Vanessa clear Fletcher out of her life is my happy place.

I think he was one of many cleared out in 1982 after Marland left. He was very insecure of her obvious feelings for Tony. Per Soapcentral they broke up after she spent the night at Tony's (platonically). I wish they'd kept him around. He had a quiet wit and was attractive. I liked his quasi-friendship with Nola too.

    • It is clear the secret involves some sort of roadside incident so it could have been a police stop. And tge Duprees support a police foundation could one of the clues that Martin's secret involves the police.
    • Hours later, I'm still wondering, what was EJ's plan in going to the hospital today? Does he think it's like a car dealership, and you can simply walk in and make an offer? That's why I laughed when Steve said that Dr. not-Rolf comes and goes.  One gets the sense the people in Salem randomly leave their offices, midday, to talk to relatives and co-conspirators.  I understand, they don't use the phone on soaps.  But, the amount of walking these citizens do in a day is remarkable.
    • Look how long it took to finally write Jack an age appropriate long term relationship with a woman he’s had history with since the damn 80’s.
    • This Sarah/Xander Lake Geneva weekend getaway trip will either be where Xander finds out that Sarah knew about the Phillip situation, or an emergency happens that prevents them from going.  Brownie points for the Lake Geneva mention since that's the getaway for a lot of people that live in northern Illinois/Chicago. EJ is kinda hot... though I never thought that about him when the previous actor played him.  I do think a Dimera owning the hospital would be interesting since the Hortons/Brady's have always had a rivalry with the Dimeras... and carrying that over to the hospital would be organic.
    • In the "things you miss while FFing" category---that 'ho Lillian Raines wanted Ed to keep the affair up and sneak around? Flippin' WHAT THE HELL? Mo should've cut the bitch.
    • Absolutely. And I think Eden could play that in a reduced role, or until a recast comes round. I would easily give her a brainy comic love interest in the Spinelli vein regardless of who is playing Joss. I do think Eden works very hard, and can do certain things well. But I would at the least downshift her and then consider writing her out and bringing on someone else. She is not a lead.
    • I am a couple days behind, but is it just me or do some of the glimpses of Martin's nightmare look like a police traffic stop?
    • IIRC, there was fan outcry when viewers realized Donna was going to be killed, although someone more in the know might have a better idea. Donna was always more popular with viewers than she probably should have been, which I credit Stuart for. I do agree she would have been easier to write out than Felicia or Rachel.  Cass and Donna dated briefly during the Malone run (late 1997). http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/cassd.html AW should have invested much more in Quinn than they did. All the pieces were in place for her to, at the very least, have a steady build in importance the way Jessica did on ATWT at that time. AW had moved away from usual patterns by bringing Henrietta and Quinn into the show to diversify the canvas. What always bothers me is the comment an AW person gave to SOD after fan complaints over Quinn's death - essentially, they did not know Quinn had any fans. Says it all.
    • I like that the Martin story hasn't been frequent.  The nightmares are airing only periodically.  Each time, we viewers see more of the accident or whatever happened.  I think we might (or at least I might) be annoyed if we saw the nightmares too often.  At this point, I've become more curious, and so, when it's finally revealed, I think the timing will be just right.
