Members robbwolff
I already shared this on the Another World board and wanted to share it here, too. Yesterday, I came across a magazine titled FourTwoNine that featured an excerpt from Armistead Maupin's new memoir. In it, he discusses his relationship with actor Curt Dawson who had played Peter Chapman on Guiding Light. It's a beautiful piece that includes a photo of Dawson. Maupin shares that Sir Ian McKellen was also once in love with Dawson in the early 60s. Maupin talks about visiting Dawson on the set of Guiding Light while high on cocaine.
Members DRW50
That's fascinating. I can't say I quite get the attraction, although he did have some charisma.
Members robbwolff
When I get back from vacation, I will scan the article and post here. I definitely get the attraction. I remember being entranced by Dawson when he was on Another World.

Members GSGfan2017
Believe it or not, no Sacramento stations carried Guiding Light after 1992.

Members GSGfan2017
@SFKNo offense, but the Tangie Hill character wasn't particularly popular with GL fans. Why do you think Marcy Walker ended up leaving the soap later in 1995?

Members Mitch
Hated this!!! God I hated screechy Marj Alex...could she be any less likeable...and that is when she is up against Tangie!!! Imagine Bev Alex saying the same thing...Tangie would be worried she would have her throat cut in the night!

Members kalbir
Taye Diggs was on The Talk this past Friday and Sheryl Underwood brought up his time on GL; she mentioned his character's name was Damian Sugar Hill. I thought Taye Diggs's GL character was named Adrian. I never saw Taye Diggs's GL episodes when they originally aired (1997 I think), only bits and pieces online. Members soapfan770
Why wasn't the Alex/Vanessa rivalry more utilized? Speaking of which, Alex and Tangie? Actually I found this to be highly entertaining when I first saw it aired. I believe Dusay if I recall right was nominated for an Emmy from some of this material. Also gotta love the wave being used as Tangie is hauled out of the courtroom: Please register in order to view this content
