I thought it was kind of telling that Phillip's name was on the list, but not Beth. I think many fans said goodbye to Beth when Judi Evans left.

I wonder if this list made them bring Alan and Rick back or if they were already planning it.

Interesting article. Thanks for posting it Carl.

I like the list of who the people writing in wanted to see back. Everyone came back except Hope and Mike (and obviously Maureen, though she did make appearances as a ghost/vision), which makes again point out what a mistake GL made by not bringing those two characters back.

I think Hope is the only one who didn't return in some way.

Looking back, it really is completely shocking they never even referred to Hope, except in ways to just highlight the fact of how wrong it was that she wasn't around for some of the big events. It was such a big mistake to send her packing in the first place, they should have brought her back, considering Alan didn't have many viable romances after her.

It's a shame Mike didn't stay after the Lighthouse Gala in '97, especially since Robert Gentry's reappearance as Ed was blind-and-miss-it TV. With all of Mike's colorful experiences, he could have become the new Papa Bauer.

Of course, I always used to think they never should have written Bill Bauer out, either.

At first I thought that was the recast of Janet Johnson.

That first photo of Kathy cracks me up.

I have a question for you early 90's viewers. How did Bridget and Dylan end up as a couple? Did they get much of a love story? I was watching clips from the Who Shot Roger storyline which seems to have them developing feelings for each other, but it ends before they really get together. Now I'm searching for more clips of them ;). They seem to have been a popular couple, but there's very little out there.

They were friends, but the relationship began to intensify after she stopped his wedding to Julie, due to her knowing Julie had cheated with Hart. By spring 1994 they were a couple, and he supported her in her efforts to win custody of Peter from Vanessa. They didn't have very much time together as he was blinded in fall 1994, became depressed, broke up with her, and went to a clinic for the blind.

You might see some clips here. If you want to search for Bridget, the uploader has her as "Bridgette" so you need to use that name.

Seeing the topic of obscure stories on AMC, I wonder what obscure stories we can think of from Guiding Light's 70 plus year history that is never talked about that much?

Did anyone else see pictures from this past weekend's bowling event and luncheon for GL's 75th anniversary? Several actors have tweeted pics and there are alot of them at stevenbergmanphotography.com People like Kathleen Cullen - who looks great - were there. Denise Pence, Elvera Roussel, Maeve Kinkead, Kurt McKinney. It was nice to see some of the old timers.
