Kimmer does seem like "that" kind of broad, who hangs with the guys. She certainly wasn't a delicate flower...those first couple of years, I was kind of shocked how physical both RN and JC are with her.

WHAT?!?!?!

Sigh.

Thanks for sharing such awful news, @Vee.  I'm truly devastated.  Hopefully, though, he'll pull through.  For his sake and for his family's, I'm definitely keeping one of my all-time fave actors in my prayers.

I kept meaning to watch but hadn't yet.

I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers, cliche as that phrase has become. I know he and his family are facing so many unimaginable choices.

I see that during this part of the interview an old clip of Jerry ver Dorn randomly pops up, which is eerie, but comforting.

I wasn't sure what he meant about not being in contact with his daughter - I'd need to go back and watch.

Locher remains as awkward as ever, but you can see how some of the P&G actors do still trust him, and I don't think we'd be getting these interviews without him.

That's true..that scene when JC picks Reva up and just throws her...and Zimmer took it like a champ..which really added to Reva's allure. Some of Reva's best relationships were with guy friends...Fletcher, Phillip, Johnny. Rauch tossed all that out so that it was all men had to be IN LOVE with the goddess, and that lost a great part of her character that made her rootable. Reva the middle aged sex goddess was not.

Terrible..we really are loosing so many people from our high school, college and young adulthood form the soaps.

Someone I know has posted a 1980 GL episode with Kevin Bacon in it. Also a very young Holly (MG), Martin Hulswitt, Chris Bernau, that "Leaves" opening. I'm trying not to post links so here's the description, what you'll need to find it. It's on Rumble, the Rich Vernadeau Show - channel, video title is "GUIDING LIGHT May 28, 1980 full episode KEVIN BACON"

Just thought some here might enjoy it.

I don't think I can bear to watch.  Not just because of Alan Locher, but also because I'm too devastated by the news.  Justin Deas remains one of my all-time favorite actors in this industry.  As I've said on many occasions, he might have a tendency to be self-indulgent in his work, but to me, he does the one thing all actors should do: he doesn't bore you.  He makes you sit up and pay attention to whatever he's doing in the scene, because he's actually ACTING - meaning, inhabiting a character, making specific choices - and not just standing there and waiting to say his next line.

God, the thought of him not being around anymore, much less not acting anymore, is just too much to bear.  I just hope his wife and kids are holding up okay.

Darn, I keep hoping for early June episodes to pop up---that's when Maeve debuted as Vanessa. But I'm sure someone will be happy for the find.

For all my exhaustion with Buzz, this is news you never want to hear. With the recent DAYS and GH star deaths, I realized how lucky we are to still have so many beloved CBS vets.

Vee, thank you for sharing the info re: Deas. I wish him all the best. I hope the craziness in this country does not keep him from getting treatment as I know it has delayed a lot of cancer treatment in certain areas.

    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
