Members DeeeDee
So Mel is lying?
Members Ann_SS
Exactly. Of course, she took a pay cut. They sent off her screen for 6 weeks to save money. If that is not a pay cut, I don't know what is.
Members DeeeDee
When Jess took the cut it was reported. Mel Scott walks, but comes back & it's not reported that she did? Doesn't make sense.
Members Ann_SS
Or she is using semantics. However, like I said if she did not, she is the most powerful cast member and is the main one responsible for keeping VR off Y&R according to VR. Members DeeeDee
They didn't send her off as paycut. She walked & TPTB wrote her out. Semantics = lying?
Members Ann_SS
Since she has not taken a pay cut unlike all the other cast members, she is the most powerful cast member.
Members bellcurve
He's still recurring. I think they turned Touissant into a detective IIRC.
Members DeeeDee
Is she a diva? Is she a bitch? Is she not a team player? Is she delusional? Wasn't he a janitor?
Members Ann_SS
LOL! I have heard story after story that MTS is the biggest diva and does not get along with most of the cast. Back to my original point, NO cast member is keeping VR off Y&R. MAB simply does not want her crazy ass back.
Members DeeeDee
If MTS is such a diva & doesn't get along with the cast shouldn't she be fired? Why is she rewarded? Why isn't she vilified for walking or venting to the press?
Members Juliajms
Is she a diva? YES Is she a bitch? No Is she not a team player? No, but she doesn't have to be. Is she delusional? No. If she pulled it off good for her, but that means EB will too.
Members marceline
I've pretty much stepped out of this thread because it's turned..weird. But I wanted to add something to the idea that VR needs money. Even though she hasn't been on television, she has maintained a pretty robust speaking schedule in support of her book and addressing the issue of foster care in general. She doesn't do those appearances for free. For somebody with her notoriety you are looking at a low five figure speaking fee. Plus she has a book coming out next year and that book probably came an advance. I'm just saying none of us know her finances.
Members Vee
I'm pretty sure Melody Thomas Scott took a cut. They let her save face with that interview.
Members marceline
I'd be intrigued to see what kind of atmosphere would make her a team player. But as I've already said, too many actresses (and it always seems to be the women) and minority actors of both genders are talented team players only to end up dismissed, disrespected and dumped. Members Juliajms
That's why I say she doesn't have to be. Everyone who has a job makes the decision to be a team player or to look out for themselves. It's up to the individual to decide what makes sense for them in any given situation.
