Y&R: Potpourri Thread 2

Why this needs a reward I don't know.

To prop Chloe.

Liz is awesome but Chilly is garbage.

I probably am the only one, or one of the few. I also feel like I'm one of the few who usually doesn't get "Chilly" or that he was somehow doing great until Mac returned. I even ended up siding more with Cane and Lily in that awful custody battle story which seemed designed to prop Chilly. I just think he has been extremely forced from the start, has no real chemistry with most of his love interests (except Sharon Case), and I don't believe him in dramatic scenes. I always see him acting. It's common for this show now -- when Colleen died, the only character I really felt was Traci, the others I just saw actors standing around -- but it does get on my nerves. It reminds me a lot of when Tom Pelphrey was at GL and he was always ACTING and this was passed off as being superb. It's like on Big Brother or Survivor, where, if someone says over and over that they are a mastermind, the viewer is more likely to believe them, whether they actually are or not.

I know not all alcoholics are alike but I've never seen any alcoholic like Billy was in that episode. The whole thing was just awful, especially when he would wander around grinning and chugging from his shaker/decanter. It was like a Dean Martin roast gone wrong.

I would like, eventually, to see less ACTING and to finally see the character of Billy again. That's not Billy Miller's fault, because he's never had a character to play, the writing has been awful from the start, but it's so distracting to see the constant mugging and dead space in place of any sort of characterization.

Exactly.

It is disturbing for me on so many levels just how much of a liar MAB turns out to be. For a woman that had pride for fixing LML's mistakes, she surely did the worst of all. Seeing as how the deaths of Cassie, John and Dru did so much damage, just how in the hell did she think killing off legacy characters like Brad and Colleen would do any good to the show? Looking back on the Christmas episodes just makes me so sad and depressed.

Marge, Sabrina & David were one thing but killing Hope, Brad & Colleen was criminal.

ICAM. Each one of those characters was a necessary part of the show, especially Hope and CC.

And replaced them with Tucker, Emily, Tyra, River, Ana, Eden, Daisy, Ryder, Chloe & Deacon.

Ugh.

Couldn't we have gotten a Christmas miracle that happened to be the firing of both the entire writing and producing teams? <_<

If they ever realize this show sucks and its creative state is in such dire condition, it might be too late to do anything about it...

But, a check is a check, I guess...

Poor Bill is spinning in his grave.

Hope's death was the most senseless and the one that confused me the most. So much potential for that character and it was such an afterthought. It didn't help that Signy did a smashing job when she returned. Just made it worse.

I agree. She is so needed in if there is any hope of Adam being a viable character, but of course there isn't uch hope for that. I think what they should do is send the character to jail for a year.

I don't think it matters how long he stays away because they don't know who Adam is and they're never going to find out. Adam is just a generic plot device to them. He could be replaced by Austin Newman, a long lost cousin of the Newman family who blames Victor for his father's premature death. He rapes Sharon for May sweeps but she keeps quiet for the sake of Nick's sanity.

I wonder if they see anyone on this show as a character. That's why they could so easily kill off Colleen, because they probably just saw her as a role played by a controversial actress, and they knew if they dumped her, some fans would say, "It's not Y&R's fault," and they wouldn't have to face backlash.

So are the rumors true? Did Petunia Pig join the cast of Y&R? I think that was her in a scene with Tucker today.

Do what?

Is Tyra even with the she anymore or is it safe to say she's done and gone? With a better actress and story, I could have seen her working. In fact I remember wanting Ana to turn out to be her daughter with Malcolm as there was a Malcolm recast rumor back then too.
