A "Less is More" Approach to Daytime

This is a real cut and slash idea, but so many of our soaps are bleeding to death slowly, and it's agonizing.

I say give them a year, have the shows pull out all their stops, then regardless, cancel the bottom 3 shows. Then distribute that money amongst the 4 that survive and INVEST in them. Maybe we're just stretched too thin with too many soaps. They're out of ideas and they're tired and they're trying to keep this big boat afloat... but they're pushing too much overboard in trying to lighten it up. We need serious ultimatums to kick these people into gear and try to figure this sh!t out.

For the remaining timeslots, air re-runs for all I care. If we get a bona-fide ratings race, and the writers and producers, actors give us what we want to see, even for a full year we might get some sort of gold back in the genre, and Y&R and B&B would have to fight to keep their places. If soaps have to die, they should put effort into going out with a bang, then even those 3 soaps that dont make the cut would have a good last year (instead of what happened to GL)
