Many viewers sort of watch a show, or have hazy memories of their first glimpses at the set, but what are your first strong memories of the soaps you watch (or have watched)?

My first strong memories of my soaps are...

Y&R: Cassandra and the gun packed in ice.

ATWT: The affair between Paul and Emily, culminating in Paul shooting James as he tried to rape Emily.

GL: Reva's downward spiral in the Florida keys.

Then, a few years later,

AMC: Liza's return to Pine Valley.

GH: Mary Mae visiting Stone in the hospital.

OLTL: Luna's death.

Loving: The Loving murders.

DAYS: Kristen letting Stefano kidnap Marlena.

I won't do "of every soap" but I will say my first memory of a soap was Eden falling from the cliff on Santa Barbara.

Do Keith and Gina on Wheel of Fortune pre-date that? Because if so, then I that would be it. But I'm pretty damn sure it was Eden falling off the cliff.

Mine was getting drawn into PASSIONS with a crazy woman in a clown suit, who I learned was named Beth, holding poor Sheridan in the basement pit

For me it would be Y&R when Nikki was faking her illness and taking sugar pills while Ashley was going nuts after having an abortion.

My memory of specific scenes is very cloudy, but the characters that I associated most with Y&R were Victor, Nikki, Katherine, Jill, and Dru. With GL, it was Roger, Holly, Alan-Michael, and Frank. With ATWT, Lucinda, John, Barbara, Kim, Bob, and Susan. With B&B, it was all about Ridge/Brooke/Taylor/Stephanie.

My first clear memory of DAYS was when Ernesto appeared as a hologram to talk to people that were trapped on this island. I was too young (and my attention span not so good) to be exactly clear on what was going on. However, I definitely remember that hologram stuff...at that time I thought it was intriguing.

I can't say exactly what my first clear memory was of ATWT, since my household had it on TV since I was small. It was background noise for me. I think I only started following it myself when the Carly/Mike/Rosanna stuff was going on.

My first memory, but I didn't know at the time it was DAYS: I saw Roman (disguised as a bum) following Marlena. I think it was during the Stella storyline? I'm not sure. And I don't know why that stuck with me. LOL

My first true memory was in 1993 at Carly's funeral, Bo grabbed Carly's hand and it was warm.

My goodness, Toups, your'e just a baby! My first clear memories are Pierre's death on Y&R, and I remember the day Donnely Rhodes replaced John Considine as Phillip Chancellor. Once the summer of 74 came around, then everything after that I remember very well. I also have memories of the Doctors, of Althea being tied to a chair in a room that was on fire. And of Search For Tomorrow, I can't remember who it was, but this little boy was kidnapped and the kidnappers couldn't get him to eat. And although I found it scary and never watched it, LOVED the opening credits for Edge Of Night, and would tune in just for THAT every day.

I never knew John Considine played Phillip. How was he? I have only seen him as Reginald Love, he of the maniacal grin.

I can't remember much of his performances, as I was about 6 then.. but I do remember him being taller and thinner than Rhodes, and he wore the moustache as well. During that time, I loved how Y&R had different end credits each day, and credited the actors that were on that particular day:

In France, only Y&R and B&B were aired when I was young: I remember clearly when George Rawlins was killed on Y&R and when Sally married Clarke on B&B. It was the late 80s' in the US and probably aired in the early 90s' in France (today we see February 2006 from Y&R and June 2007 from B&B: double-dose of Ashley ).

My early memories on the Young and the Restless, I believe would be Leslie Brooks and her hands were smashed, she was a Pianist.

*Can somebody confirm if I am correct I remember alot but a bit fuzzy I was so young.

GH Laura disappearing in the fog. I know I watched the wedding and Beecher's Corners, but the clear memory is that.

AMC: I just remember Pamela Kingley for some reason. I don't get it.

OLTL: This costume party that lasted a month at Asa's house.
