So, the comedy/sitcom of Nick/Bridget vs Jackie/Owen was...entertaining. It was pure sitcom...but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

But can you imagine that Mr. John F. Smith, former headwriter of Y&R, penned sh!t like this??

Also, would three adults sit around and discuss others' sex lives?? Really?

No, I can't. That's right up there with Mulchaey's "You're a star now, Phoebe". Wow. Seriously, do they drug them up over there? I don't get it.

It's got to be an international thing. I can't figure out why else they do that.

Thank you for posting that awful dialogue. It reminds me of the Soap Opera Encyclopedia talking about when the Pollocks wrote for GH, and they had dialogue like:

Rick: You're my heaven and my hell.

Monica: You're a fever in my blood I just can't cure.

Rick: We started with each other and now we can't finish.

Hey, maybe some of the B&B writers will write for the next Dynasty...

I can't think of a better description for Ridge in the sack.

I'm back to watching B&B out of interest rather than habbit. There's still room for improvement, but overall it's good.

I like Nick and Bridget together as the stable couple who provide comic relief, without the Brooke angst or the Katie angst. Brad would be smart to keep them together in that capacity.

Also, Bill Spencer is exactly what this show has needed for ages: an amoral sleazebag tycoon intent on bringing the Forresters to their knees (like Massimo, but with sex appeal). When Bill came, the show started improving. In response to what Mark said, I assume he's not in the opening yet because they're waiting for Rick Hearst to air. Then they'll update with Diamont, Hearst and DTB. As for the end credits, it's a mistake. The same thing happened when Jennifer Gareis went back on contract in 2007 - it took them months to put her name in the credits.

I'm been loving Hawaii scenes. It's been light and fun (a contrast of everything else on the show which is probably why I'm enjoying it) and the beach scenes are beautiful to watch.

But, you know what? They did a decent job. Throwing some colorful plants on a Malibu beach, repurposing the rooftop as a wicker-fenced Tiki lounge...it worked. They credit the Hawaii "stock footage" at the end (from Hawaii tourism), but it was well integrated.

This is actually one of the most effective trompe d'oeil location shoots I can ever recall seeing on daytime.

And this is prob why the NY soaps suffer when it comes to location shooting. It makes less sense for a NY soap like GL or ATWT to go down the outdoor-shooting production model when LA has beach + urban + desert + mountains on its doorstep and which it can disguise as multiple locales.

It's funny, but when they shot the beach shots, there was a little cliff in the background. And I'm 90% sure that's the cliff Ridge looked down from for his "destiny westiny" spot.

Since that kind of beach access is hard to get, I'm guessing that they must be shooting from the Bell's own Malibu beach house.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
