When was Miguel written out? I thought it was 2003 or 2004. We had this story of him taking care of a sick relative. If Estella's been there 5 years, then I can understand them thinking they KNOW her. We all know there is "staff" at the Newman Ranch that we never see. I know wev'e not SEEN Estella much except the last year, but I remember her being at least mentioned a couple years prior.

Miguel was only written out last summer, Nikki said he left to go take care of a relative I believe. He just hadn't been seen on screen for years though.

I don't recall Estealla ever being mentioned until she showed up last year. In fact, I recall her being hired to fill Miguel's position last summer or something. So, none of this knowing her for years crap rings true to me.

Last summer, Nikki went into the Newman Ranch to give Miguel an ornament as a token for his years of service before he left. She mentioned he was going away to take care of a family member and that he wouldn't be back. Nikki wasn't married to Victor, and Sabrina was around.

Damn, it seemed like so much longer. But I'm sure Alvin in dancing with delight at having some more ammunition to blast the best episode wev'e had in weeks. Alvin, I'm shocked!! You didn't notice that the casket they dug up was the same casket Marge was in? Same color, same wood oramentation. Come on, your'e slipping. I thought you'd take any opporotunity to sh!t on the show.

You know I'm just jumping with glee because I like ragging on my favourite soap when it sucks

There was nothing great about this episode, but we're all entitled to our opinions...

I sh!t in the show because it deserves it. Don't feed us out right lies that clash with what we know is true and expect no backlash in the end...

But of course, you weren't posting here when I really liked the show earlier this year and late last year. But again, you think you know everything about my posting habits on Y&R.

It matters when they're trying to sell us on the type of bond and years of service she's given to Nikki and Victor, which we know isn't true.

Nikki wasn't at the Newman Ranch for very long when Estella was there to properly judge her character. She's barely interacted with Estella on screen, so why is Nikki talking about how much she knows Estella and the years she's known her and the type of person she is?

They're gasping at straws to make this pathetic gaslighting storyline work. Heavy plot driven writing.

But they did mention that she was hired last summer to fill in Miguel's duties...

    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.

      look who’s at a party I’m at
    • Yes. We should absolutely move on from John/Drake's 40 year legacy on the show to see what Leo is going to do tomorrow.  Lol.  This can't be a serious post.

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
    • I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.
    • That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
    • I've seen so many posters over the years who are bright, creative, well-versed in soap history, and who care deeply about the integrity of the genre. I'd put the shows' chances in their hands a lot faster than I would allow any of the "usual suspects" to take control of the dramas they've already helped decimate. When I returned to university in the 1980s, I created a bible for a new soap and presented it in my screenwriting class. It was in reaction to how badly I saw the network shows being butchered at the time. The creative process was thrilling; a total joy, and I still smile when I remember the positive feedback I received from the professor and my fellow students. I was used to seeing written commentary from professors on my work. This one wrote me a long, complimentary note on the final page of the bible, but also graded it 97%, A+. I was beaming ear to ear for days!
