That I agree with. Morrow's never going to be in the same league as Case, Bergman, Stafford, but I think he does a good job in the role. I think he does a great job when he's given the material.

I don't know what is it about his face that just doesn't say Adam to me. But I guess I'll get used to it. I hope he does great in the role.

Chloe and Mac as friends? Definitely not. I agree with keeping Chloe and Amber as friends.

What are you drinking, Sylph?

I agree. I have never seen her be lazy. I've seen her be contained during quieter moments in story (i.e., moments without huge drama). I think, even then, she commanded attention and did fine.

It will take some of us a while to visually shift from the more "Michael J. Fox" like Engen. But I think, if he's good, it won't take too long.

Agreed. Even if the writing for him, over time, was adjusted to his performance capabilities...now they work together. Nick is mostly understated...and then, like at Cassie's grave Friday...he 'brings it' when it counts.

Exactly.

It's going to take me some time (a few days  )...but yeah, this is not a great time to do a recast.

Are you basing this on Monday's Canadian show (which I haven't seen)? I only saw Friday's, and there wasn't enough to judge chemistry. They did fine in that kiss on Friday, though.

I love Amber and Chloe's snark. It is fun and real. I can't even imagine what Chloe would have in common with Mac. Chloe would have to spent most of her time giving Mac makeovers and style advice. No doubt MAB desperate to make Mac less dull would take away some of Chloe's sharp edges. Mac and Lily can be BFF. They can be boring together.

The good old fashioned soap heroine is kind of screwed these days, eh? Audiences find her boring at best and sanctimonious at worst. Why would any actress want to sign up for these good girl roles these days? Thankless :)

Of course it does matter if the writing is up to par. It's like giving me a calculus problem that I could probably solve with my eyes closed and my hands tied behind my back, there is no challenge in it because it's something I do all the time. So it might come off like I am bored or lazy to do it. But ask me to take that same problem and apply it to be useful to people/society and then it becomes a challenge and something meaningful and exciting to do. Where you see lazy, I see as the actress who likes to be challenged and loves a good story, not getting that story. But she sure has been getting it these past several months and everyone sees the difference (well not everyone apparently  ).

But then again, I have got mega issues with Sharon Case and her lack of diverse acting capabilities but I don't go about bashing her because I know that this is the type of character she is very comfortable at playing so I don't expect much that the writing will change from the normal "victim" route for her. Same goes for CK as well, their range is not that great so the writers write according to what they can play.

I have no excuse for Morrow's acting. When he and Case both started, they were BOTH very green and yeah, kind of bad. But while Morrow's improved somewhat since 1994, it was Case that really worked hard her to perfect her craft and morphed into a stellar and consistent actress. I remember in the early days when she couldn't cry and constantly had all these weirs hand movements and used to pound her hands on her heads during crying scenes. Well, she's certainly one of the most natural criers out there these days. Either Morrow doesn't try, or Case was just a faster learner that he was.

Amen! Great great summary!

I like Case...at least now in story. I think she's really giving her all, and it shows. But, basically, I think your assessment is spot-on.

CK...I don't know. Honestly, I feel she actually drags down the writing. She makes it WORSE by playing cute.
