You mean you don't have to be stupid like Lily to fall for an animal from a another species like Cane?

It would've been memorable to see Dickson crying over her dead son and blaming Katherine in the same scene. LOL!

*Shudders*

Jess Walton = Goddess.

It was all a bad dream..a la Pam Ewing????:P

Even worse!!!

Now I'm imagining Brenda Dickson playing that hospital scene.:lol::lol:

He may have been suffocated from her cleavage. Entertaining though. It's hard to remember Jess had only been playing Jill for a year or two at this time, her work is so raw and true to character. I am just blown away by her over and over through the years.

I'm glad I found this clip, I was sure this was just some delusion on my part. :P

I hope they will show this in a flashback soon, it's a great moment.

Tricia Cast is lucky Bill Bell saw her brief stint on Santa Barbara and created Nina especially for her. I don't think he created any roles for too many specific actors, at least ones that weren't high profile daytime starts prior to joining the show.

TB just has to be playing Phillip III! I don't him to play P3's twin or any such nonsense.

Can anyone link the article where TB hints that P3 might be gay?

I find the idea that P3 was secretly gay to be fantastic and totally believable. I can imagine him running away because he just couldn't deal with everything.

If Cane's DNA is similar enough to Billy's for them to be related, but Cane is really an Abbott? Could John Abbott have an illegitimate love child?

No, I prefer Engen. Engen looks like a handsome, cornfed midwestern boy. "All-American", as they used to say. That under such a bland and unthreatening exterior should lurk a monster is far more...discomfiting.

Casthon, how could you! LOL! Engen was born to play Adam Wilson. It's all perfect with him -- he looks/acts/freaking sounds like a Kansan, looks like a cross between Victor & Hope, is totally believable as someone who got into & excelled at Harvard, has chemistry with everyone, and always brings it. I also think that Engen is doing something brave & fresh with his performance. He's playing Adam as exhilarated by his actions and that's extremely disturbing, which in turn is awesome for us as viewers. So many other actors would choose to show the "hurt sweet boy" underneath who feels all guilty. CE saves his moments of guilt and uses them very sparingly. They're there but there fleeting and he quickly suppresses them. Instead, he showcases the sadist within and that choice makes all the difference. It creates real suspense in the story. How far will he go? Is anything off-limits?

Adam's real motivation is clear as day. Victor and Jack emasculated him, and Adam cannot take that. He will risk his freedom, his sight, and even his life before he gives over his "manhood" to Jack and Victor. All the other men on the show can tolerate being Victor or Jack's bitches. For example, Paul this whole past year, choosing Victor over Heather in the Palin case, and now biting his tongue when Nikki traipses off to to the mansion to let Victor know about the engagement. JT, Michael and Neil (until recently) are Victor's yes-men. IMO, Adam's need to hurt Jack and Victor is unquenchable and insatiable. He'll use Ashley for now. If he's not caught soon, he'll turn on other members of Victor or Jack's families. Basically anyone and everyone he has the ability to strike at. Creating hurt for Jack or Victor is how Adam is able to reclaim in his manhood. That's why Adam is sexing up Heather all the time now -- it's not an accident that it coincides with Adam's plans beginning to yield fruit. And I don't think Heather is just some dumb blonde being hoodwinked by Adam. She pursued him and the only way she can see him if she goes to him. IMO, deep down Heather knows exactly what kind of man Adam is. She even voiced regret that she didn't run away with him and has done risky things like confront Victor while half-dressed. It's not the corn-fed country boy she's hot for, it's the bastard within. Matt Weiner (former Sopranos scribe and creator/HW of the sublime Mad Men) once said that "Women love men because they kill things." I don't know if that's a universal truth but I think MW is on to something, at least for some women. Maybe it's a primal thing, going back to the time when women needed men to go and hunt down dinner. LOL! Who knows. Women like Nikki, Ashley and Heather gravitate towards men with killer instinct for a reason.

Threatened masculinity is why men go to war and has been since the dawn of time. Sometimes it's called "honor" but it's really about manhood. The root of Victor & Jack's feud is the same thing. Victor made Jack feel like less than a man and the war has been on ever since. Jack won't be Victor's bitch (even if it means that Jack always loses everything he loves) and Adam won't be Jack's (even if it costs him his life). That's dedication. I just hope it sure doesn't come to that cause Adam is amazingly entertaining.

God I love your assessment of Adam. It is because of CE's performances that I am starting to understand where Adam is more and more now. In this same thread I voiced my confusion but as I watch him more I see the layers. I totally agree CE is AW for me for all the reason s you said. Today when Ashley was freaking out for a split second I saw remorse and then I saw him snap out of it, it was all so subtle. That's brilliant to me. CE plays up the subtleties of the character so that he can peel the layers at the right moments within the scene. Adam is enthralled in his plot at this point. He is driven by this thirst to to "show and damage them" at the same time. It's evil genius and CE is still Hope's Kansas farmboy son when I look at him

Frankly, I've always wondered if Bell wanted to make Phillip gay, but knew doing so would cause ratings erosion or something.

Phillip's emotional state reminds me so much of so many gay youths. The uncomfortableness and never feeling like you fit in, which is of course very common in gay youth.

Damn girl, you made a CE believer out of me! I agree with all your points especially about his motivation. Forgot for a secend Ashley is Jack's sister so of course he's targeting her. As for CE though, I still would like a more dark prescence, you didn't really like his evil laugh did you? He's still got this whole frat boy thing that doesn't translate well for me but I do like how he uses his blindness to blind OTHER people (loved him punking Nick by falling).

I always thought TB's Phillip was gay. It screamed it...LOL....He was drunk when he slept with Nina and had a crush on Cricket..if that doesnt tell you he was gay nothing would have.

Honestly I loved watching Tricia as Nina. I really belive it was her potrayal as to why Nina is a favorite Y&R character for me

She's a favourite of mine too, and one of the first reasons the show caught my attention. She was the perfect blend of actress and character. She also has a very common/everyday girl thing about her that she's never lost. Very good actress that always turned in consistent work.

i always loved her too. I hated how they wrote her out with that wirter guy. I always thought she deserved so much more. Hey - maybe the evil David Kimble is behind all this Phillip madness! :)
