May 11, 200916 yr Member I think Cane is fine. My only real problem with the character is the weird age he's supposed to be. He looks enough like JW that I can buy him as her long lost son. My other nitpick is that Nick already serves the role of pretty but sweet dumb hunk in a corporate job he's not qualified for. Now that Cane is back to his natural setting, a dive bar, maybe he can develop an identity that's distinct from Nick's. If they're going for the GC version of a Humphrey Bogart movie character -- a basically amoral but pleasant fellow, then the writers are on the right track. Well said, I just wish they'd give him more depth, and you're right, Nick fills the "pretty but dumb" role already. Edited May 11, 200916 yr by AllAboutAngst
May 11, 200916 yr Member have Lily go out of town to grieve. Or slit her wrists, spray the walls with her blood (unintentionally, of course) and die with Cane's picture frame on her hands, mumbling: "Oh, Cane, my love... I am joining you........" Edited May 11, 200916 yr by YRBB
May 11, 200916 yr Member Or when Jill unintentionally orchestrates that plan to kill Murphy, Murphy dies, but Cane also gets caught in the crossfire and dies.
May 11, 200916 yr Member Could someone PM me the names of the people who upload Y&R on YT? The one I used to watch on there the videos are now giving me the "not allowed in your country" message.....
May 11, 200916 yr Member Or when Jill unintentionally orchestrates that plan to kill Murphy, Murphy dies, but Cane also gets caught in the crossfire and dies. No, no, no.... no need to kill Murphy off just yet! It's waaaaaaay too soon. But Cane, her "son," could be the one killed instead of Murphy! "Oh, no! I killed my son! Nooooooooooo!" But, then, she learns Cane wasn't her son, so she spits on his grave and does a demented dance of screams and jumps. Edited May 11, 200916 yr by YRBB
May 11, 200916 yr Member Dear God, no more homicides in Genoa City please!!! Cane's secret is that he's an alien. Duh!! How else do you explain how utterly emasculated he is on this show? Esther probably has more sex.
May 11, 200916 yr Member Dear God, no more homicides in Genoa City please!!! It doesn't have to be a homicide. Cane can die from illness or an accident too, just as long as he's dead. Hell, I'll even deal with Cane and Lily leaving the show, and then Jill gets a phone call from Lily telling her Cane was killed in a car accident or something.
May 11, 200916 yr Member It doesn't have to be a homicide. Cane can die from illness or an accident too, just as long as he's dead. Hell, I'll even deal with Cane and Lily leaving the show, and then Jill gets a phone call from Lily telling her Cane was killed in a car accident or something. I'd rather a call over the phone. Because the other problem with deaths on Y&R is the effect: mourning the character. Cane should be forgotten immediately, no funeral episode even. When he goes, he goes. There are no more crimes LML forgot to lay to rest that may be pinned on him so he gets the jail time for punishing us for his awesomely bad-ness, then a death penalty? If anyone were to die, it should be another annoying character, like Lily, and Cane should be found guilty immediately to head on to the lethal injection chair. ETA: I like how we're starting off the week with a makeshift manual based on the 1001 ways to kill Cane. Edited May 11, 200916 yr by rhythmchyc
May 11, 200916 yr Member Flesh-eating bacteria? Give Cane skin cancer or something. Melanoma is an aggressive incurable form that can cause fast death. They can use it to fulfill their preachy social issue quota for the year. To advise the audience to use sun screen and take good care of their skin! And YRBB dear, Cane is a bacteria on his own.

No way. I don't wanna spend a week watching Lily "cry" over Cane's illnesses. Throw me off a building, why don't ya?
May 11, 200916 yr Member What do you enjoy about the character, y&r_fan? It's mainly the actor I like. The character certainly isn't one of my favorites, but he's not "Get him off my show!" bad. I like his rivalry with Billy and his relationship with Jill. They need to give him more of a personality so that he's not such a typical Ridge Forrester-esque 'soap hero'. That he's kissing CKLily. We all know she's the best thing that happen to the Winters family & the young set under 25. Grow up!
May 11, 200916 yr Member No way. I don't wanna spend a week watching Lily "cry" over Cane's illnesses. Well, after that week, you won't have to see Lily with her "cutsey" voice throwing herself all over Cane again - he's all taken care of. It's the price to pay for his permanent exit from the show. Throw me off a building, why don't ya? OK.
May 11, 200916 yr Member It's painful that he's the Chancellor heir, given his age and the fact that he's such a poorly developed character. Though LML dropped it, I wonder if she planned to expose him as a fraud later on. That phone conversation with his uncle had to have had some significance for her, as horrible of a writer she was. I'm with you on this. I too am hoping something will come of that. It would be a nice move if Cane is exposed as some fraud and then out of Genoa City.
May 11, 200916 yr Member Well, after that week, you won't have to see Lily with her "cutsey" voice throwing herself all over Cane again - he's all taken care of. It's the price to pay for his permanent exit from the show. There must be a more efficient way to get him off our television screens. Both Lily and Cane should be removed with as little effort as possible. Whenever both of those actors try to put forth emotion and you know, um, act, it's far worse than watching them be complacent. I don't even want to see him suffer. No blood. Just immediate extinction. OK.
