Is the Julie Poll book the only history of the show? I ordered the Lemay book, but I wondered if there were other books written about the show's history.

There's also the trivia book and the novelizations of the Steve/Alice/Rachel triangle but I don't think there's that many books about the history of the show.

There were also the Soaps & Serials novelizations from the 80s. The Another World home page lists various publications ... http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/public.html

Reading summaries from later in 1993, I see that Cass mentioned his estranged mother. It was the lead-in to Morgan's introduction, but I feel slightly cheated we didn't get an appearance from Claudia Winthrop. I compiled some names, but I'm sure I'm missing plenty. Who would you choose?

Mary Stuart

Audrey Peters

Tudi Wiggins

Lori March

Rosemary Prinz

Ann Flood

Lois Kibbee

Bethel Leslie

Doris Belack

Alice Hirson

Helen Gallagher

Diana Van der Vlis

Millette Alexander

Rosemary would have been great - she's a match for Stephen too.

Elizabeth Ashley played Emma Frame on the show for few years, but I think she would have been even better as Cass' mother. Might have had to tone down the Southern accent a bit, though. Then again, maybe not -- it could have helped explain his attraction to Souther belle Lila.

If anyone is interested, I recently sent Eddie Drueding of the AW Homepage my ancient tape of the tenth anniversary of AW, the first hour-long episode which featured the second marriage of Alice Matthews and Steven Frame. It was broadcast on May 3, 1974.

I had no way to digitize the tape, myself, but Eddie managed to make a pretty decent transfer, which he has uploaded to his website.
