OMG - What is Frankie Frame doing on ATWT??? Hee Hee. Alice Barrett appeared in the 1/4/88 episode as Casey's cousin, Claudia! It's amusing me see all of these AW and ATWT actors just flit from show to show. Back in the day, P&G really liked to keep actors in house, didn't they?

Barrett also played Jacqui McCormick on the P&G soap The Catlins that aired on TBS from 1983-1985.  The Catlins was produced by Joe Rothenberger who produced both Another World and As the World Turns.

That was fun to watch - thanks for sharing! Now that I've seen that, I have a super vague memory of this show at the time. It makes me wonder if I caught any of it or tried it out. I usually tried to watch any new soap opera to see if I liked it. Also, of note, Tonio from ATWT is sitting right next to AB!

The Catlins aired on TBS for 30 minutes- it was paired with 30 minute episodes of the AW spin-off Texas.  Apparently TBS edited the 60 minute Texas episodes into two 30 minute episodes.

How long did TBS rerun the show?

Not sure of the exact dates, but it probably ran the length of The Catlins from 1983-85 since they aired in a one hour block.   I wonder if the episodes of The Catlins are still in tact.  It would be interesting to  watch the show online.

I could understand him trashing Phillips, etc... but Slesar?!?!?!  The writer that wrote some great mysteries on both EON and Somerset, as well as utilizing the Washington DC setting for Capital ( i.e. political intrigue, scandals, espinage, etc).

With that said, I was a child of 80s soaps.. and the soaps I liked as a child in the 80s were Guiding Light and Santa Barbara (two very polar opposite soaps).  I loved that both were emotional, quirky, and full of life (I liked Pam Long's take on GL).

I do wonder if Lemay had the idea to make Josie, Russ Matthews daughter, or if that was Donna Swajeski?

When Sharlene Frame returned in June of 88 it was clear with her conversation with Rachel on the farm ranch that Russ was already intended to be Josie's father.  Look it up onYoubue.  They both talk about Russ and old and times and Sharlene gets uncomfortable talking about "Josie's dad" and then after she goes on the party line that Josie goes on after Liz Matthews came to the ranch and asked if Josie was Russ's daughter and uses the alias as "Aunt Liz".  This was not Harding Lemay's write, it was Donna Swejeski's but I am sure the producer Michael Liaison is the one who insist she write this.  He wanted the show to go back to the basics with the old families since the anniversary of 25 years was approaching

I believe that Iris and Louise were tape recording Alice's conversations with Elliot when Alice was Dennis' nurse.  Rachel somehow got the tapes from Iris  to play them for Steve to show him that Alice was no longer interested in him.  This was around the time of the Watergate tape scandal and AW received mainstream press comparing the tape story to Watergate.

I am sure that was Lemay's idea, as well as bringing Russ back to Bay City in March 1989.  Lemay was already gone from the show in November 1988, but it is always been stated that Swajeski borrowed heavily from Lemay's pre-written bible of story projections.   We probably did not see Swajeski's original storylines until Summer 1989 when the show had to revise storylines because of Douglass Watson's death.

I am guessing it was Lemay to bring back Russ but the Josie being Russ's daughter was already introduced psychologically.  It was intended in the summer of 88 when Sharlene Frame came back to town.  This was def not a Harding Lemay write .

Lemay was hired in January 1988 to return to "Another World." The rumors have always said that Lemay submitted a bible before the strike so it's possible it was Lemay.

I am sorry and meant to state that DS was writing in the June of 88 during this episode during the writers strike.  Lemay returned in Sept of 88.  The Russ talk was already on the table before then

35 year ago, on January 6, 1983, Linda Dano made her Another World debut as Felicia Gallant- where has time time gone?!?  🤔

I just watched this ep again the other day along with some other eps from '83. I always forget how much of a snotty b*tch Felicia was in the early days. I find it to be an almost completely different character.

When she first appeared, I think TPTB were trying to have Felicia be daytime's  answer to Alexis Carrington.   She was still quite mean in the Summer of 83 at Mac and Rachel's wedding after she found out Cass was seeing Cecile behind her back.  This was when she tried to pick a fight with Julia, and Julia pushed her in the Cory swimming pool. 😂
