I hope the Williams enjoy a resurgence...

If they're looking for a random new young man...instead of the next Ji Min or Adrian Korbel...there is no reason not to make him Brooks Prentiss. And, well, what Bill Bell wanted is somewhat irrelevant at this point...what matters is what MAB and her team want.

First if the character Mary Jo is Patty what a disappointment it will be. I did love the character back then. By why not get Andrea Evans to reprise the role?

And who would be Brooks Prentiss?? I am lost there and too lazy to go search through this thread for the answer.

LOL...I liked her in the role.

I know that. I meant what current character on the canvas would he be. I thought that's what Mark was referring to.

Too tedious.

Lorie and Leslie Brooks were sisters.

Lance and Lucas Prentiss were brothers.

Over time, each sister was with each brother, although mostly Lorie (the novelist) and Leslie (the pianist) fought over Lance.

Leslie got pregnant (I think while Lorie was married to Lance) by Lance. She tried to conceal the pregnancy (by living in Europe and claiming to have eaten too many Swiss chocolates), and Lance's brother tried to step up and marrie Leslie to give the child a name...but in the end, Lorie figured it out. This child was Brooks Prentiss.

Well, eventually Leslie went crazy (again) and wandered out of town, with amnesia. She was gone for a long time, in St. Louis, singing in the bar of a kindly man named Jonas.

Lorie took care of the boy, and grew to love him like a son. So when Leslie finally got her head together and came back to town, Leslie and Lorie had an ugly custody fight over Brooks. Lorie claimed maternal abandonment. In the end, though Leslie got her child back.

Tina, Tawny and Rebecca were so over the top characters. I hated her in those roles. But Patty was different from what I remember. She is the original Patty. It would have been nice seeing her opposite Doug Davidson again.

No someone else said they should bring Brooks back...I agreed...if they're looking for the next random young man.

Andrea is not the original Patty. The original is Lillibet Stern.

OH ok now I get what you were saying.

Eh...Lillibet Stern didnt even register with me.

Just like Martha Byrne is original LIly and not the actress who portrayed her before.

    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.

      look who’s at a party I’m at
    • Yes. We should absolutely move on from John/Drake's 40 year legacy on the show to see what Leo is going to do tomorrow.  Lol.  This can't be a serious post.

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
    • I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.
    • That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
    • I've seen so many posters over the years who are bright, creative, well-versed in soap history, and who care deeply about the integrity of the genre. I'd put the shows' chances in their hands a lot faster than I would allow any of the "usual suspects" to take control of the dramas they've already helped decimate. When I returned to university in the 1980s, I created a bible for a new soap and presented it in my screenwriting class. It was in reaction to how badly I saw the network shows being butchered at the time. The creative process was thrilling; a total joy, and I still smile when I remember the positive feedback I received from the professor and my fellow students. I was used to seeing written commentary from professors on my work. This one wrote me a long, complimentary note on the final page of the bible, but also graded it 97%, A+. I was beaming ear to ear for days!
