Not to mention, scene after pathetic scene w/ Lily "crying" over her loss.

No, I think, we're better off with Cane remaining alive.

Him being a Chancellor, OTOH...? That's another story.

Wow - Karen finally got to do something...as she left the show. Just sad, so sad that they've invested so much in Tyra, when the game was always at Mama Karen's table! It'd be great to see her on another show.

Why does Billy love Mac so much? She's not sexy, interesting or anything really. She's certainly no match for Chloe. Chloe and Mac have ZERO enemy-chemistry. Speaking of Chloe, does Chloe, the suffering mother, do it for you all? Cause she seems dilluted and whiny now.

Cane's big change of heart wasn't very believable. Not sure if it was the writing or the acting, but seemed far-fetched.

Gosh - Jill is vamping it up and i love every second of it. Long live Jess Walton! It looks like they're passing Gloria's torch of Cheif-Schemer back to where it belongs...

Here's my Adam theory. Didn't he ask the forger to get him some dermatology supplies or something like that? I think he purposefully used those creams to make himself go temporarily blind to get out of jail. Now, he's going to try his damndest to break up Ashley and Victor. Hopefully he'll get back at Jack too, but MJ's gonna fry him anyway.

From Nelson Branco's Ra(n)tings, dated today:

Today is soap fan ambassador Tom Casiello’s highly anticipated Y&R debut, and it’s stellar (we’re a day ahead in Canada). You soapers don’t want to miss it. Why? The Emmy-winning scribe miraculously makes the Winters entertaining — no joke — and pens Nia Peeples (Karen) the shining moment she’s been craving since she started acting. It’s simply a standout show, and proves sometimes not being able to write what you want — hello, Days of our Lives — inspires a writer on a new soap to pull out his pen and spill his hot, delicious ink all over the page. And, like Hogan Sheffer, that’s just what Casiello did — and then some.

If you're reading this, Tom, my advice to you would be to, well, change your phone number and address. Yesterday.

Today was the first time I watched Nia in a long time. She was outstanding. What a perfect send-off. It's too bad that she wasn't given this type of material and depth before. (That's probably because she was supposed to be off 13 weeks ago -- except for contract snafu.) I'm glad Karen is gone, but I'm really happy with the execution. This is why I watch soaps!

Highly anticipated? Miraculously? A standout show? I'm like one of Casiello's biggest fans but even I have to say COME ON!! LOL I guess Nelson's called "The Straw" for a reason.

Anyway, I thought the episode was pretty good! Especially the scenes with Neil/Karen. First, Neil standing up in court and talking about Ana; after the hearing ends, Neil walks back into the courtroom and sees Karen’s wedding ring on the table; the huge Karen/Neil fight (how she accused him of using her to get over his dead wife) which ended with Karen slapping Neil! Both KSJ and Nia were wonderful in this ep.

Ashly/Jill bantering was pretty funny. The Jack/Adam scene was good too. Jack calling Adam out on his blindness, accusing him of using a disability.

And then the montage at the end with the last shot of Neil holding the ring in his hand and looking down at it. Good stuff.

I'm so glad this Ana story is over. It was pretty boring.

    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
