Members bellcurve
I think it's Miss Crabtree. Mrs. Crabapple is from the Simpsons.
Members Jonathan
Oh, I hope they don't rip off the Oscar idea of 5 past winner presenting the award for the acting categories. It was ok for the Oscars but it just reeked of cheesiness at times. "Debbi Morgan, you are a class act. Well done. Jeanne Cooper, you are a force to be reckoned with. Bravo." Members rangethatrover
Damn that was funny !!! I actually liked the Oscars doing what they did with the exception of some of the REALLY overblown introductions (like you mentioned). With daytime it just wouldn't work. But damn it would be FUNNY. Members bellcurve
LOL. Screw Sophia Loren being drunk, pilled out, putting her hand on her hip and slurring every word. That would be every presenter at the Daytime Emmys!
Members DaytimeFan
As Sophia Loren has gotten older her English has actually gotten worse! That was hilarious. Pilled out...LOL. "Jeanne Cooper, you are one hundred years old, we love you, Bravo. Kim Zimmer, you play a bloated wreck unbelievably well, Congratulations. Susan Lucci, you are a diva, Thank You VERY Much! Maura West, you're younger than most of the other nominees most recent set of veneers, what a talent. Deidre Hall, you are unemployed, all the best..." Members DaytimeFan
And I just envision Linda Dano being the one to say that...not that LD and DH aren't actually friends, they are, but Linda's voice with her big smile...it would be hilarious. Members JackPeyton
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/conten...0b34200e5c3bd2e Daytime Emmys shifting to the CW First time the awards will air outside Big Three networks By Nellie Andreeva April 7, 2009, 12:09 PM ET It's official -- the Daytime Emmy Awards are moving to the CW. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has inked a deal with the network to broadcast this year's show, which will be held Aug. 30 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. That is a couple months later than the usual time for the Daytime Emmys and is sure to be a part of the CW's promotional push for its fall launch. NATAS approached the CW after CBS, which had been alternating with ABC in carrying the event, declined to renew its contract. After ABC also declined, saying it was not prepared to broadcast the event two years in a row, the academy pitched it to other nets. This will mark the first time the Daytime Emmys air on a non-Big Three net. "Sesame Street" will be honored with the lifetime achievement award at the event for "40 years of educational television." "The Daytime Emmy Awards are one of the cornerstones of our business," said Frank Radice, president and chief marketing officer of NATAS. "From the extravagant red carpet to the great entertainment, the viewer will experience the show through new approaches which will make this year's show more robust and relevant than ever before."
