Wow - I am definitely in the sub-zero minority here, but I LIKE Cane clobbering Billy, and spitting venom at Chloe. They deserve it and more! I completely enjoyed DG's performance this week. Cane has every right to be upset - he gave away 8 months of his life and he's got nothing to show for it. He was willing to sacrifice his own happiness for the life of that baby and then the baby's born and "oh it's not yours". I get that EH and BM are extremely popular and likeable, but come on! As for his chances of getting custody, it's an uphill fight for sure. But the circumstances of the marriage, the baby, the parents and Cane being Delia's uncle, he's got more of a chance than you might think. It's damn good dramz!

As for the criticism of Cane's attitude, what should it be??

I was ready for the kidnapping storyline to be wrapped up or at least move forward and it did yesterday so that was a good thing.

I used to like Cane but he is just so wrong it's not funny. Why would you ask someone to help you raise a child that's not yours or hers, especially when both of the other parents want to raise the child themselves? Cane is ridiculous and if Lily goes along with it she is too.

While the Jill/Gloria catfight was ok in premise. I love seeing Jess Walton going back to basics as fart as playing Jill is concerned, however that catfight could have been executed much better. There wasn't even a slap. It fell flat. And I mean Glo against Jill? Is it any contest. Glo, do us all a favor and DIE!

Never in a million years would I ever think of using this term but this is insanely appropriate:

ZOMG!!!!

I am so glad that I haven't read any spoilers.

Sharon's breakdown?!?!??!?!?!?

Esther following that louse of a husband and seeing Katherine?!?!???!?!??!?!?

Karen telling Neil she saw him kiss Tyra!?!?!??!?!?!??

Jill and Gloria getting down and dirty in a good old fashion soap opera cat fight??!?!??!???!??!??!

Lord Jesus.

I'm not even visiting the spoiler board from now on. All those surprises were too good to happen on anything coming up now.

Lol how in the world is Billy and Mac > Billy and Lily?

If anything Mac is 1 million times more boring that Lily ever was in the past and ever could be in the future. I mean seriously outside of her lil stint with JT the character was dead boring back in the day and only served as a "goody two shoes" character opposite Raul's girlfriend (s) at the time. Them being Brittany and the girl before her who I forgot.

At least Billy and Lily have some fun and some spark whenever they're together. Billy and Mac would be the ultimate snoozefest.

They should just have Cane with Mac and let that go somewhere.

Next week looks amazing!

IF Gloria gets back together with Jeff and actually means it she's the dumbest person alive and any hope I had of liking the character will die. I truly want to root for Gloria but how can I when she keeps returning back to that sleazeball? I know that's how Jeff is supposed to be but the way he's treated Gloria is beyond disgusting. Him and Jill I don't mind since Jill can can handle an idiot like him. However him and Gloria are just sick.

Cane STFU you dumbo. You're not Delia's father!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEAVE HER ALONE WITH BILLY.....

Billy and Lily had spark only compared to Cane and Lily. Otherwise, I don't see how in a million years Billy & Mac are worse than Billy & Lily.

That thought scares me seriously. Don't let him touch Mac.

Definitely.

Jill and Jeff are hot together, IMO.

I don't know what they plan to do with Gloria now, but I'm worried she might get more airtime.

I wish I had the strength not to read the spoilers.

He seems more whiny and silly to me than he does a villain.

I actually like the change. I got tired of the previous haircut.

Sharon Case, please take note of some of these actresses---do something about your hair already!

^^^I think Sharon Case is looking hotter than ever. Although you may be right when it comes to her hair. It could be more haute....lol!

Jill/Esther/Chloe = LOVE

There scenes were amazing....

And Billy I'm rooting for you but you need to buckle up and get ready to go head to head with Cane. That's another generation of ABBOTT that you need to claim.

OMG Jack is AMAZING for what he said to Nick on Thursday's episode! FINALLY someone tells that stuck up Newman manwhore what's what! I may be a Phick fan but Nick doesn't make it easy and in fact Nick is truly getting on my damn nerves lately. He needs to straighten up and be a REAL MAN to Phyllis otherwise I'm gonna have to support Phyllis moving on for now.

Mac has always been written as Billy's soulmate, even when they were found to be related. So far, even though Billy claims he has feelings for Lily, all I see is a short term fling. There's been no dept whatsoever poured into that relationship. Mac might be a goody two shoes, but she's never been the continuous directionless hot mess than Lily's been and continues to be.

It's your opinion if you find something interesting in Lily. All I see is a bland, dull as dishwater moping shrew who does the same thing day in and day out.

Christine and Sharon, as needy as they can be, have a million times more personality than Lilly will ever have to me.

Well, this isn't really about Lily, though. That's well worn ground.

I agree with you, though, about Billy. Billy even told Lily that she helped him connect with a part of himself that he thought he had lost for ever. We know what that is...that is the part of him that strove to be a better man with Mac.

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.

    • I decided this primetime soap deserved it's own thread as the Primetime soaps thread is very cluttered and why shouldn't NBC's Lorimar soap mot have a chance to shine? In doing a deeper dive into the second season ratings I was surprised to see that FR actually had an uptick in the ratings when NBC moved it to 9pm Tuesdays beginning March 82. I'd always assumed this move was a desperate one as NBC were running short of programming and had given up on the show, deciding to let the final episodes play out and be hammered by 3's Company  and CBS Movie. But the numbers paint a different story. In it's 10pm slot up against Hart to Hart, which regularly finished in the Top 20, FL premiered in 53rd place and placed in the 40's and 50's as the season continued. But come January 82 the numbers surged a little now moving into the 40's hitting #43 in Feb. Hart to Hart was #11 Then in March Bret Maverick was moved to 8pm with FR @9. First week 16th March FR #47 15.1/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Not great but #2 in it's timeslot March 23 FR #44 15.6/25 3's Company #4 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #33 So even with a stronger movie on CBS FR's numbers went up. March 30 FR #31 16.6/26 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #56 Best rating/position yet Tues April 6 pre empted Tues April 14 FR #36 16.0/26 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #11 CBS Movie #59 Maintaining previous week's numbers Tues April 21 FR #33 15.6/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Numbers down a little (reflecting general spring downturn) but best ranking of the season so far Tues April 28 FR #35 15.1/23 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #6 CBS Movie #42 Tues May 4 FR #27 15.2/24 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #4 CBS Movie #41 Season finale and highest position of the season. Looking at those numbers I wonder why NBC cancelled the show? They had very few hits and here was a show that was holding it's own and moving up in the rankings in a tougher timeslot. And being a serial, the storylines could continue to build the following season. And I'm sure the desirable W18-49 demo was good. Some might argue that CBS were shower weaker movies, but even so, soap viewers are pretty loyal. I guess Grant Tinker arrived at NBC and wanted a classier look but there was room for FR on the schedule. I mean, the following season Knight Rider,Powers of Matthew Star and the A Team arrived so there was still room for more populist fare. Flamingo could have stayed at 9pm-the replacement Gavilan bombed (surely FR would have done better} or moved back to 10pm. The following Jan NBC had a hit with A Team Tues 8pm. Had Flamingo followed it, it might have really taken off. As it was they tried Bare Essence, which flopped. Oh well,it was not to be...
    • Always, in every way, Cass/Wally/Felicia foundational to my viewing. And, I think if we look at the aftermath of the disastrous 90 minute show that we find too many pockets of some kind of lost time at the show plus way too much of change-ups in exec & writing leadership and of course we also reach the first time it becomes notable that NBC wants to get rid of the show so they can put a new soap they own in the timeslot.

    • And this came out as the "feud" and the media pushing the protests in Los Angeles got all the media attention. They know the press and the public will not care or can be manipulated into approving.
