June 30, 200916 yr Member I'm hoping for Author of exquisite, psychologically compelling stage plays is hired to HeadWrite CBS' The Young and the Restless. The passionate writer is expected to make radical changes on the sudser's writing team and to bring the show back to its lovable roots. Also, Executive Producer change! And, for B&B: Bradley Bell steps down! Long search for the person to take his position. Oh yeah. Both of these are highly likely. LMAO!!!!

July 3, 200916 yr Author Administrator Melissa Salmons. Nope, not Melissa. This firing was pretty surprising - it's one of the BDWs.
July 3, 200916 yr Member Frederick Johnson? You said surprising, and getting rid of Johnson would be a surprise.
July 3, 200916 yr Author Administrator Frederick Johnson? You said surprising, and getting rid of Johnson would be a surprise. Nope, not Fred. It's Janet Iacobuzio. I found it surprising because Carlivati/Valentini already had their breakdown team in place, and Janet's been at the show for 4.5 years. So something must've went down. I think this could be a sign that many changes will be happening at OLTL soon. ABC execs have been messing with the show a lot.
July 3, 200916 yr Member Oh, maybe it was a budget thing? Since she's been there for a while, maybe she was pulling in more than most other staff writers. Even with her gone, they have enough breakdown writers anyway. Edited July 3, 200916 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
July 3, 200916 yr Member Sylph, do you really think B&B needs a long search for a new HW? I don't think it would be hard to replace Brad Bell and do a better job. The only thing I worry about is a loss in production values and I do love the way they structure scenes. They have a very distinct way of telling these awful stories that I would want to remain.
