Parts of the show is good. But a lot of it is bad too. I dont know how Erica didnt burst out laughing after Bree was doing Bess. She was just gawd awful.

I did like Todd and Marty story but now it is boring me. I love Tea but now she is getting tied to a boring storyline.

LOL Aren't we all a bunch of bitches when it comes to our "stories" as my grandmother used to say. lollllll

Yes, my little Soapsud, if you are only watching one day a week, its not fair to judge...

You have valid points-

Bree Williamson is NOT my favorite actress. To me she is very off and on. Any split personality story has that element of soap opera "camp" to it. I have always loved anything with DID.. Bree's Bess scenes can be campy, but it works for me. Do I wish Erin Torpey had the opportunity to act out Jess the last 4 years. YES. Every day.

David- LOVE IT. Sorry, It is really funny. OLTL does humor better than any soap. He makes me genuinely laugh. Just the look on his face. I love Tuc.

Tea being tied to the one weak aspect of the show- The Santis- That's what I call them- It doesn't bother me. She is SO good that it makes dealing with them bareable.

I think OLTL needs a nice little cast cut- All of the Santi's ,Marcy, Michael, Talia, Christian, Tika...

Either awful actors, or good actors whose character's storylines have seriously played out.

In their place I would bring on an entire African American family.

The only thing that bothers me about OLTL is that diverse element missing.

And I may be in the minority, but I am SO looking forward to this drug abuse storyline..

Most of you probably think it's a sure thing that OLTL is going to win this, but I don't.

The WGA awards aren't judged based taped episodes, they're judged based on written scripts alone. Which means dialogue and story structure ARE MAJOR REQUIREMENTS. As it stands, ATWT has a MUCH STRONGER dialogue team than the second-rate wannabe sitcom writers OLTL has for scriptwriters. Also, since they're only submitting one or two scripts, ATWT's lightning fast pace might actually help it with judges, since soaps are so hard to judge story-wise based on one or two episodes. Hence, why I think Latham and her team won for Y&R last year, when most of us thought her writing abilities were crap.

Ron Carlivati might be a decent storyteller, but he sure as hell doesn't have Bob Guza or Hogan Sheffer's eyes and ears for good dialogue writers, IMO.

My, my- You really dislike OLTL's scriptwriters!

First weak episode I heard scriptwise was last Friday I think?? That new writer Katherine Lennon. It was very clunky. It was the episode where Todd jumped.

And if ATWT has more encapsulated episodes with a beginning/middle/end, I would not be surprised that ATWT would win at all. And when the WGA judges, they are judging scripts not plots.

Well if OLTL submits an episode scripted by Aida Croal or Elizabeth Page then the show already has the award won.

I don't think RC is that dumb, he obviously kept Croal and Page on while letting go basically everybody else for a reason. So I guess he had to have submitted a script by Aida or Elizabeth.

I'm sorry, but neither of those women are on par when it comes to scripts written by Peter Brash, Richard Culliton, and Susan Dansby. ATWT has more options when it comes to great dialogue and easier to understand story structure (thanks to the awful fast pace of the show).

OLTL could easily win, but ATWT still has the better scriptwriting team, at least IMO. Just like how OLTL might be the best soap on ABC, but GH's entire writing team is still the best on that network and probably daytime as a whole.

A HEARTY and HEARTFELT congrats to Jean P!!!!!!

If ATWT powers that be read these boards- SHE IS DOING AN AMAZING JOB AT ATWT- KEEP HER THERE!!! WHAT AN AMAZING TALENT.

Please. keep. her.

(she would totally be hired by ABC at OLTL if Carlivati gets ditched, despite her awful stint last time)

KEEP HER!!!!

You are joking right LOL. Jean P is a hack and awful. The only reason Ron/Jean were on the WGA ballot is the WGA REFUSED, I mean refused to have any fi-core head writers nominated. Anyone whoever went fi-core will never BE NOMINATED FOR A WGA EVER AGAIN. In fact all the WGA wants to do to the fi-core members is SPIT IN THEIR FACES. Jean P has been there forever but her pacing is off, her character development is off and ATWT is a mess right now. GL is improving over ATWT.

When did Passante write for OLTL? Was she with Leah Laiman and Peggy Sloane? Of the three I think Sloane had talent, and yet I don't know what she's doing now. Is she still in daytime?

Passante infuriated me at AMC. After that I'm surprised ATWT isn't worse than it is.

    • Yep, that scene was at the conclusion of the Derek Thurston vs George Packard storyline, when Kay decided neither of them should run Chancellor.  By the time she put Victor in charge, Victor had been on the show for months & months with his Rolls Royce, his ranch, and Newman Enterprises.  SONY released some Y&R "trivia cards" in the late 1980s, and one of the questions was "who brought Victor Newman to Genoa City?" The answer on the back of the card is "Kay Thurston, to run Chancellor Industries", and it's a wrong answer lol.
    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.

    • Haha that scarf thing did go on a bit too long, very odd. And what a young Rick!  I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I just never got the physical appeal of Grant Aleksander, but he's definitely a great actor. Who is the older lady around the 8:30 mark, and also ends the episode, alone and in pain? She seems like a really interesting character. I love the smoky voice and sultry, snaky vibe she seems to have.
