How much do I admire this young woman?

Thanks for being a misogynistic scumbag pervert, Butthead Matt Gaetz! (Seriously, he is Butthead come to life. Looks exactly like him.)

All because they want to strike back at Democrats for the recent consensus on two bills, Republicans are willing to make veterans suffer.

A horrible human being, proven yet again.

As Parker Malloy mentioned on Twitter, this is not even her first time lashing out with anti-gay views when she  and her party are not given what they want. They aren't going to pass the bill, but they want to come up with a "reason," as they always do. And they know the media will go along. She can kiss my ass. No wonder Olympia Snowe can't stand her.

Am I missing something?

The article states that she is supporting the same-sex marriage bill, and that she's been trying to gather support for it among other Republicans, but that she now feels that that work has gotten more difficult. I totally agree that opposing the bill simply because they were outsmarted on another issue is reprehensible, but how can Susan Collins be blamed for that if she is supporting the bill?

I'm sure there's more to this story though, but as an outsider this sounds strange.

"I just think the timing could not have been worse and it came totally out of the blue," Collins said.

Besides conflating the entire issue, this is coming from the same woman who threw her support behind Brett Kavanaugh? Who continues to say nothing about the shady dealings of the Thomases? You’ve got to be kidding, right?

I wonder what Susan Collins thinks of her fellow GOP colleagues disrupting critical funding that ailing veterans needed like, yesterday? Which is the more egregious?

@DramatistDreamersays it better than I could. She did this with Kavanaugh as well. You are so mean to me so I'm voting for him. This is "look what you made us do" politics, grievance politics and victim-blaming. It's punishing vulnerable people for something they had nothing to do with. In 2020 she withdrew her support for an equality bill after an lgbtq group in Maine endorsed her opponent. Now she has chosen this specific act to throw overboard...very questionable to me.

Won't pass the Senate but this is good for the base and messaging, especially right now. Now all we need is the IRA:

Even the states where abortion bans are unlikely to happen need to improve their resources but wow, the states where abortion bans are happening have horrendous numbers. The mortality rates and teenage births are incredibly high.

I know most of this board does not care for James Carville, but he just cracks me up sometimes. He's such a 90's relic and yet he's not wrong here.

Looks like even ruby-red Kansas believes in abortion access! The "No" vote to alter the amendment to protection (or remove it) is winning handily!
