Lukewarm(?) Take: Manchin is drawing Infrastructure Decade out as long as humanly possible because he knows that once he does, he faces renewed pressure re: the filibuster and voting rights which McConnell has already feared will buckle him and Sinema, specifically re: a bill Manchin put his own name on. Biden said last(?) week, on television, that he can't force anyone's hand on the filibuster until infrastructure is complete. When this bill fracas is over it becomes a game Manchin is not wholly prepared for.

That theory makes sense. Unfortunately, so much time has passed now that I would be surprised if these issues are addressed in the next Congress - at least the filibuster. If they are afraid of losing the Senate majority in 2022 they may not want to temper with that issue (even though McConnell will likely ditch it himself at some point - or his replacement will).

It just pisses me off, because people say why don't Democrats pass popular legislation. And when they try, they are shut down by their own.

^^ This can still be iced by the prosecutor general, who is a Bolsonaro appointee but this has already gone much further than predicted by some media.

Too bad no one will prosecute T**** for crimes against humanity. He's just as guilty and negligent as Bolsonaro. 😡😡😡😡😡

You must think we Americans are absolutely nuts, and you'd have good reason to! 😪

If it's any consolation, we have quite a few idiots here as well.

Kudos to Stacey Abrams and her organization. It's funny how many in the Beltway ridiculed her, and continue to dismiss her, as she has done so much to help people (including delivering the Senate majority), while those we are still told are superior to us and trying to "save us from ourselves" are  doing this:

I know it was always going to happen, but I wonder if that whole flap with  Kathy Hochul endorsing the Buffalo mayor who lost his primary had any push.

I don't think so. Jumaane Williams was likely more of a factor, as each seemed to be concerned about the other running. Williams may still enter the race anyway. If he does, James definitely complicates matters for him.
