I have to admit to being conflicted about these reports. For years we've watched cops gun down and torment Black people without hearing about them feeling "a sense of failure." On the contrary, they practically take a victory lap. So why the different reaction here?

I'm not claiming to know but I think it bears some examination. Was it because these people all claimed to "back the blue?"

Not sure what folks expected from a Slovenian sex doll who married for money.  What?

Thank you! I've been saying that all along. I don't even look down on her for marrying for money. So what? If she just hadn't worn that damn jacket and stayed away from the birther stuff I wouldn't even revile her the way I do.

These people don't actually care about freedom of speech. They are happy to oppress other people who don't share their views.

Even Angela Merkel, who decided to make Trump a martyr today, presides over stringent laws against free speech. Yet suddenly she is upset.

I was thinking this too. Very weird. All I can figure is that a lot of people are afraid of the power big tech has amassed.

I think trying to defend against the coup was probably horribly traumatic for some of these officers. Some of these people are loyal to the country and likely felt they failed in stopping the break in of our capitol building. Imagine trying to beat back these nuts while some of your fellow officers are taking selfies with the enemy. Plus they are under a lot of criticism for not being more effective. It seems like a really different job than being a beat cop, not that I really know that. It's just my impression.

If these SOB's go through with their plans to attack again they need to be met with riot gear and bullets AFAIAC.

First losing the PGA and now this. Trump really is coming out of this presidency worse than he was going in. He was never likable, but now he's loathed and can't even attempt to revive the Apprentice or forge any business deals with major companies.

Behind the scenes: In a tense, 30-minute-plus phone call this morning with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Trump trotted out the Antifa line.

McCarthy would have none of it, telling the president: "It's not Antifa, it's MAGA. I know. I was there," according to a White House official and another source familiar with the call.

The White House official said the call was tense and aggressive at times, with Trump ranting about election fraud and an exasperated McCarthy cutting in to say, "Stop it. It's over. The election is over."

So Belichick turned Trump down flat, huh? One thing you know a NFL coach is concerned with protecting is gis legacy. They're not going to waste a storied HOF one on the likes of Trump.
