I don't. I would've waited until the Ukraine caper came up, but now IMO it was necessary, both morally and most of all to ignite the base. The point now is to keep it going and bleed him through to Election Day - preferably all the way through. It's not about the vote (which should be prolonged through to 11/20), which will almost certainly fail. It's about the country and about firing up the public.

No, we won't, you will, because that's what you always do.

  But I love you anyway.

Strategically, IMO it's the right thing to do for the base, and there will never be a better time or a better crime. YMMV.

You know what?  I have to take back what I've said before.  As I see it now, the House has no choice BUT to pursue impeachment charges against Trump.  We've let too much slide already.  If we do the same with the Ukrainian mess, then we can officially throw the Constitution in the garbage can (where it probably belongs anyway).

Part of me believes this is merely a tactic on their part to force Trump to comply with the investigation(s).  Of course, THAT would imply they still operate under the assumption that he is a man who will give in when cornered.  Maybe he will, and maybe he won't, but how terrifying is it that, when it comes to Trump, we just don't know how he'll respond?

Moreover, I can't help but wonder if this is, in some way, a reaction to what has happened in the UK, with their Supreme Court ruling that Boris Johnson was being purposely deceitful when he prorogued Parliament in order to protect his "Deal or No Deal" Brexit agenda.  I mean, it's terrible optics for this country that the UK can do to THEIR leader, with no qualms, what we can't seem to do to ours.

Let's be honest: if the Democrats lose a lot of seats they picked up in the last election, it won't be because they failed to impeach the president.  It'll be because of the far left and how they have fostered divisiveness among the entire Democratic Party.

I think most Democratic voters are intelligent enough to know that we face, at best, an uphill battle in impeaching Trump.  We KNOW that ANY articles of impeachment are going to die the minute they hit the Senate floor.  If anything, it COULD be what we need to mobilize the base into retaking the Senate.  Because -- and this is just my opinion -- if and when we DO retake it, then, and only then, can we talk seriously about matters like impeaching B**** K********.

So, he DID back down, then?  Of course, we know by now that his SAYING there was no collusion doesn't mean there actually wasn't.  Ergo, I'mma wait to see whether he actually releases the transcripts; what, if anything, those transcripts reveal (that is, if we are allowed to see them at all); and what the Dems will have to say about them once they've had the chance to review them.

Once impeachment starts we're pretty much in the general election. It's Trump vs. Biden now.

I've seen some suggestions that they could impeach in the House and never send the case to the Senate. They would essentially spend the next few months detailing all his crimes then just let it sit there. Bottom line is I trust Pelosi and Schiff and Cummings. These aren't stupid people. Also, I think the op-ed by the seven freshman Dems with military and/or intelligence backgrounds showed how this issue is going to be framed in the swing states.

I'd still vastly prefer Warren (and I think she's getting close). I think Joe means well, but I just don't think it's a good idea at all at this point. Could he win? Yes, but I don't need the base being torn in half again over him.

And yes, I think that's exactly what'll happen - impeach and let it simmer.

I'm of the mindset that the party being torn in half is inevitable. Black voters in the South will pick our nominee the way they have in every election since 1992. No matter how much progressives hate to hear it it, the Dem base is way more centrist and pragmatic than they want to believe.

    • Xander was screaming at Felicity.  He did do something wrong.  Felicity was clearly upset by it and Cat/Chad told him to stop.  That's fair.  No one deserves to be yelled at their job-and even I think this plot point is too preachy.  It's not acceptable behavior for anyone to do that.

    • Now, actually not. That thought had not even made it into my head, so, no, so far anyway, I've not seen that. Haven't seen today yet. What you're describing is warped & I think she's feeling genuine empathy & sister bond.
    • Xander was the bigger person apologizing to Cat when he didn't do anything wrong.  he wasn't yelling at Felicity whatsoever, he was asking if she possibly had given them the wrong order by mistake.  He was trying to get to the bottom of what was going on, but Chad/Cat were trying to white knight Felicity even though Felicity was being treated just like anyone else in that situation.   She was the one to bring the order out to them, and usually the person that brings the order out is the one that puts the order together.    I'm still getting a read on the Cat character.   I think she seems to work well when interacting with everyone other than Chad.   Perhaps the new writers can move Cat out of Chad's orbit into another orbit. Paulina has been written quite well the few times she's been on since the writer change.  I think Jackee is enjoying the new writing.. you can tell when she's on screen.
    • LOL - well, Peter was included in the grandkids' section, each named specifically with their $100K trusts.  It must have been the abs...

In Henry's will, he said it had to do with Hart having a chance at being a better person than his father, since his father isn't providing for him (I'm paraphrasing here, but it was about Roger).  Still a little surprised...
    • I'm glad the truth is all out regarding Roman and Kate's secrets from each other, and also happy Roman didn't make much of the letter forgery, because why would he even care? They are a good solid couple. However, not to be mean, when Roman had his little flashback at the DiMera mansion he seemed more like an old man that was lost. How wonderfully aggravating that we still don't know what the hell happened with Johnny the night EJ was shot. I can't wait to find out. I've my feelings clear on Paulina, but she was definitely written much more adult and Jackée even seemed a bit toned down, for the better. Nothing boring about either scenes for me. I like the little drama between Xander and Cat, for the newness of the interaction alone. AnnaLynne McCord is much better at material where she's not acting dementedly lovesick. Seeing that side to Cat was integral to remembering she's not a moron, and I am definitely intrigued by the heck could be calling her. Kevin Lambert returning is a cute little surprise. I never watched Chadwick Hopson in the role though, was he any good?

    • I would love if Sarah were already pregnant and then, even with the reveal that she knew about the letter, that she and Xander would work on things to keep their family intact. But I fear that time is running out. Whatever Philip is doing is probably going to mess up everything. I do like that Kayla and Sarah mentioned the Horton legacy with the hospital and that Kayla would much prefer Xander financing it over EJ. Xander is suddenly Horton adjacent. Belle is as usual a massive hypocrite whining about 'everything' Xander has done to her family when EJ raped her sister, kept her cancer ridden toddler from her, helped Nicole keep the baby she had stolen from Sami for a year, shot her dad in the head, and as recently as last year railroaded her innocent teen nephew into prison where he was beaten up. Sure, Xander shot Brady and Marlena but both of them seem to be over it. Cat should have just graciously accepted Xander's apology. I actually like that he treated Felicity like anybody else and did not coddle her. I hope we see him apologizing though. I wonder if Cat knows that Xander shot their granddad Kon dead last year? She might like him better if she knew. I wonder who is calling her? My money is on Gwen for some reason. I feel like Cat and Chad will get comfy and then we will find out Abby is out there and Gwen has had her. EJ and Cat were far more palatable than Chad and Cat, but EJ makes everybody easier to tolerate. Roman and Kate vs Johnny and Paulina... not sure which were more boring. I guess I'll go with Roman and Kate because he speaks so darn slowly now. Philip is entertaining the heck out of me. I hope he ends up the hero who saves Bo. I think it would be hysterical if he managed to get his hands on the Versovix and EJ ends up buying a useless money pit of a hospital.
    • I just start to laugh thinking about the interview where Leslie related its being Tom Donovan who talked her into doing GH & then, once she was settled in & looked around for him, he had JUST vanished!!
